What's new

I am not a Taliban supporter: Imran Khan

Imran Khan is honest and carries no baggage, but like any politician he also ‘lies’; no lie is too harsh a word; Imran is economical with the truth. I have followed his interviews and speeches for a long time. He may not be out and out Taliban supporter such as Munawwar Hassan of JI, there is little doubt that Imran has a soft spot for Taliban.

This may be to remain on the right side of fundamentalists during the elections but Imran Khan is certainly no liberal and would not get my vote (if overseas Pakistanis get voting rights). Another thing that I admired him for; his stand on principles; is no longer true. All the old corrupt politicians that always changed side when they saw a potential winner are now joining him.

Regret to advise that under these circumstances, even if he wins, nothing will change. It will be Twiddle Dee for Twiddle Dum.

^^ IMO, The bigger risk to change are not few horse but the masses.
There is no guarantee that masses surrounding & praising IK are clean.

What puts me in doubt is, that he keep pushing army in bad light by statements like 'Army overtakes are over'
At this moment, apparently only he stands between Zardari & coup. masses without his inspiration would welcome army.

What we have witnessed is this country and its institutions function best in the hands of Army general.

In shape of retired army chief Musharraf would have been the best President.
