SRINAGAR, (SANA): the All Parties Hurriyat Conference has welcomed the government of Pakistans decision to observe, like every year, February 5 as Kashmir Solidarity Day to give a clear message to the world that the hearts of Pakistanis and Kashmiris throb in unison.
The APHC in a statement issued in Srinagar, said that the people as well as the government of Pakistan had been extending political, diplomatic and moral support to the Kashmir cause since 1947. The statement maintained that Pakistan had been a source of inspiration for the people of Kashmir in their struggle for securing their inalienable right to self-determination.
On the other hand, the veteran Kashmiri Hurriyat leader, Syed Ali Gilani has called for peaceful protests after Friday prayers today (Friday), and complete shutdown on Tuesday against the shifting of political detainees from Srinagar Central Jail to the jails outside of the Kashmir Valley.
Defending some Kashmiris including Ghulam Muhammad Butt, an activist of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir and others in the Patiala court in New Delhi, Ram Jethmalani said that the allegations levelled against the Kashmiris were fake and baseless.
Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front Chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik in a statement expressed condolence over the death of a Kashmiri leader and an intellectual, Muhammad Ashraf Qureshi in Rawalpindi.
He said that Ashraf Qureshi had sacrificed two sons in the Kashmir liberation movement.
