A few days ago i went to Hungary for a conference. After the first day was over i decided to go for a walk outside. And there i met Jena. I was surprised to see a foreigner dressed in shalwar kameez and dupata and talking fluently in urdu.

. . .
I saw a documentary a while back where someone was interviewing students of Urdu dept in a polish university, those girls were talking in fluent urdu and referring to different poets including ghalib and Iqbal, they seem to have more knowledge about Pakistan than I do.

true, i also met a German hiker a while back. He had visit most of the northern areas of Pakistan has written books on cultures and traditions of Pakistan. he told me stuff about my country i never knew ..

Most of Pakistanis don't know about their country well, it's unfortunate.

That is even worse in our next generation; my own younger cousins know less about our History, Culture & Geography than my generation did & we knew less than the generation before us ! :(

I'm sure you would've observed that in your kids too !

Yeah - that's true. But how they will know it, our education curriculum is bs, there is no effort from state to educated people from other method, nor our media try to play it's role on top of that we don't have culture of adventure and exploration, max our families do is go to some parks or famous places like murre, naran, kaghan etc.

Its even worse than that even the ones who go through an apparently better prepared curriculum are churned out as little more then British Indians in the State of Pakistan because whereas they know all about the Shakespeares, the Rembrandts or the Tennysons of the world most of them can't even quote a single verse from the works of Baba Bulleh Shah, Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai or Rehman Baba - Its so sad & so depressing ! :(

I also had a very good experience with eastern European mostly polish and Ukrainian. They are not as brainwashed about Pakistan as average american or british who think Pakistan has only one thing to offer which is terrorism
