Huawei posts revenue growth in H1 despite sanctions and pandemic

Huawei reported a 13.1% year-over-year revenue growth in the first half of 2020, even if countries around the world continued to weigh up bans on its equipment and smartphone sales shrink amid the pandemic, the telecom giant said in a brief on Monday.

The firm’s revenue reached 454 billion yuan ($64.88 billion) in the period, with its carrier, enterprise, and consumer businesses accounting for 35%, 8% and 56% of total revenue, respectively. It finished with a net profit margin of 9.2%, a slight increase from 8.7% in the same period last year.

The privately-owned company did not specify what contributed to its H1 growth, but said in the release that amid the COVID-19 pandemic, “information and communications technologies” — the main focus of its business — “have become not only a crucial tool for combatting the virus, but also an engine for economic recovery.”

The growth came amid the U.S.’s ongoing campaign urging allies to remove Huawei from their network infrastructure. The U.K. is reportedly scheduled to phase out Huawei gear in its 5G network as soon as this year, a plan that critics warn could cause network outages and other security risks.

Huawei growth slows after sanctions and political pressure

they still couldn't stomach the idea of them admitting that Huawei is growing in double digits so instead they chose to point out that the growth is slower than before so they chose this title to give the impression to the casual reader that Huawei's revenue is decreasing.

after 3 years of continued efforts from the five @$$es alliance they still can't handle even this single company as if Huawei is some sort of an almighty country itself.

the five @$$es alliance:-

they are wondering why can't they take this single company Huawei down!

no matter how many bans they place against Huawei, Huawei keeps growing!
the white supremacist dogs bark but the Huawei caravan moves on.

Their phones are awful but at least better than Xiaomi.

there is no modern flagship phone that is bad these days, pretty much all of nowadays flagships have peaked whether it is from Huawei or Samsung or Apple, the only thing they do these days is add some gimicks and replace the CPU with a more powerfull one but that is meaning less, it's not like you are going to play the Witcher 3 on your phone, in the end the price is what determines what you can buy, and in that regard Huawei can mostly offer more specs than others at the same price or the same specs at a little bit less price.

.
I've never heard of a private company disclosing its financials.

.
Huawei was not in my wish list few years ago, my wish list brand was Xiaomi, but since Trump's BS, I have bough Huawei phone, Huawei smart body weight scale and Huawei Health band.

Majority of my friends and relatives are using Huawei devices too. Support for Huawei came from both its product excellence and as a statement against the political actions from US and its allies.

Thus it is no surprise that Huawei's sales retain its strides.

. . . . .
What is the purpose? They are not obligated to shareholders to disclose.
I guess it would make sense for them to disclose their gains in order to enhance & strengthen their image to get more investments, it might also be a middle finger to the US.

.
China's own market is enough to sustain Huawei. Everything else is just cherry on top. With potential growth in Africa, Southeast Asia and Middle East, Huawei will be fine.

My guess on Huawei's largest customers in 5 years:
1. China
2. Africa
3. Southeast Asia
4. Middle East
5. Europe (Mostly Eastern)
6. South America
7. North America
