Huawei OS Shock: 'No HongMeng Android Alternative For Smartphones'

HONGMENG OS IS AN IOT SYSTEM – LIANG HUA

Ever since the ban on Huawei by the US, the development of its HongMeng system has been a major topic of discussion. Huawei’s “2018 Sustainability Report” conference, contains a speech from Huawei Chairman, Liang Hua. According to Mr. Hua Huawei’s HongMeng OS is basically for the Internet of Things (IoT). Whether it will transcend into a mobile phone system is not known for now.

Liang Hua said that the HongMeng OS is for low-latency scenarios such as autonomous driving and telemedicine. Huawei’s mobile phone still regards the open source Android system and ecology as its first choice.

Earlier, Ren Zhengfei said in an interview with foreign media that the HongMeng system itself is not for mobile phones, but for the Internet of Things (IoT). According to him, it can precisely control the delay below five milliseconds, even the to sub-millisecond level. Huawei also hopes that it will continue to use Android but if the US restricts its use, it will develop its own operating system. The most important part of the operating system is to build an ecosystem. It takes two or three years to re-establish a good ecology.

Recently, there are rumors that Huawei will release the HongMeng operating system at the 2019 Developer Conference. This conference will commence on August 9. An earlier hint from Yu Chengdong suggests that this system could arrive this fall or next spring. At the time, Yu Chengdong said, “If the Android application is recompiled, the running performance will increase by more than 60% on this operating system.”

Ehhh, right after Trump bended over, it's now not meant for phones?:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl: Android was also meant for IOT genius. All of them are Linux based.
Most trollers don't understand how technology work. I just read and laugh. If someone uses these articles to debate me in reality I laugh harder and louder.

Seriously you have no idea what you are talking about right? Hint: android can be used for TVs too.:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

Yes, Android TV isn't something new. Why are you just hearing about it?

It's also in cars in case you didn't know.

Well huawei certainly gave the impression that it had a replacement for Android as in cell phones. Turns out it was just a bluff.

Do you know how easily adaptable it is to phones? The point is this was announced right after trump bended over to give an impression Huawei will support Google. Trump was forced by the tech lobby to give in during the last talks. Farmers were grabbing his balls and relief money didn't trickle down as promised.

You really think it's that hard to make an android derivative? It's open source for god's sake.

As an isolated piece of software which runs mobile chip, battery, an internet browser, maps and few standalone apps yes it is easy. But as a platform to connect to and host millions of apps in an app ecosystem and which run flawlessly on the phone is not a joke. People use their phones to connect and not just for stand alone apps.

The apps need to adapt to the OS not the other way genius. That's why apps are designed based on OS. Android basic is already a very powerful tool, the biggest difference is efficiency algorithms, and Huawei claimed earlier it was faster, but all of a sudden after Trump announced that reprieve, Huawei watered down their OS? Designing an OS is not difficult, mass adoption is. get it?
