There is speculation that American actions had more to do with economic retaliation than genuine security concerns.

You maybe right.. although I am not that familiar with Huawei's management style. But Reliance is one company which is ruthless in its business style, they will do whatever it takes to keep them profitable... and by it I mean sometimes by hook or by crook. Not sure if Huawei also follows a similar ideology.... I doubt so.
Our other govt owned PSU companies have a lot of other 'social' responsibilities and are handled as political pawns by those in power. Nevertheless, the govt employees as such use BSNL networks anyways, but I hope Huawei also gets a fair chance to bid for the 4G deployment.... let the decision of selecting the winner lie with the service provider.
NO!!! We should leave the indians in the stone age. Don't sell them any high tech goods, just the worst quality cheapest things we can manufacture.

NO!!! Don't give india our high quality Chinese products. Leave them for our own countryman.Seems the toxic n-Hexane got to someone's brain!
“We hope Apple will heed to its corporate social responsibility,” said Jia Jingchuan, 27, at right, pictured with coworkers. He said exposure at the Wintek plant to the chemical, known as n-hexane, has left him with nerve damage.
High tech, for sure. Wiping that iPhone glass with n-hexane in the dead of the night, powered by the tea and a biscuit, coming from those dorms (20 to one dorm on beds only you can fit in) is surely so high tech!
And those Happy meal toys.
Even the Tibetan protest flags.
