Hey all.

So today I plug in my HTC stock Beats earphones to my M7 and they don't seem to work. Even if I plug them in, the sound still comes through the speakers.

I check the earphones on my laptop and they work fine.

I plug in 2 other sets of earphones on my M7 and they work fine as well. Tried all sorts of combos and everything, but only the HTC earphones won't work on the M7, everything else is dandy.

Any suggestions or fixes?

Earphones act strange in some pairing schemes, I prefer earphones over headphones because of their compact size but sometime i can only hear from one side, other times from both and occasionally no sound at all. I have tried all types of remedies from software updates, bios upgrades to physical inspection but i am yet to resolve this mystery.

mine are working fine with the m7

Are you using right jack? Do you have a phone case? If so it may not be plugged in all the way with the case on. If you're listening to speakers on high volume then plug in headphones remember you need to higher the volume again. It sets it to low automatically.

If not try blowing into the hole. If you dropped water in it earlier it will be defective. Maybe try different pair of headphones. If you're using headphones with mic that might be reason. Or you damaged jack somehow.

Edit:

You used different ones and they worked. Must be issue with HTC headphones, usually factory headphones that come with smartphones aren't so great. Just use better pair or better yet purchase over ear headphones that will do you better.

But the headphones themselves aren't faulty...they are working on a laptop.

You will not like this, but if you cant stand it, just do a complete factory reset after making a backup. This is a software issue.

Like secur said then it is most likely software issue. You might have an app installed that's causing or you a launcher.

Software bugs, I have no specific explanation for this. It doesn't even make much sense, but that is a fast way to resolve this issue if you are bothered by it. Have you tried disabling the Beat accelerations from its control panel?

I'll try that, thanks.

No luck

Then it's your phone. Or you don't have boomsound on after you plug them in. Just get better headphones, stock ones are cheap and will die out quick. You can get many great over ear headphones around 50$ range.

Around 50$ range or more? If 50$ these are good:

Amazon.com: Superlux HD668B Dynamic Semi-Open Headphones: Electronics
Amazon.com: Samson SR850 Professional Studio Reference Headphones: Musical Instruments

................

These are best two for under 50$ range for sound quality and comfort/durability. Will do you fine for gaming/music.
