What's new

Hrithik Roshan’s Kaabil is a rage in Pakistan, collects Rs 75 lakh on day 1

Its understandable, most Indians won't be able to sit through a Chinese movie or television either.

@GumNaam your thoughts on the OP please.
My thoughts? I don't take anything that a mouth piece like chris chapel says seriously and nor I watch him.

.
And they open a thread and Indian cinemas go bankrupt in Pakistan

. .
I meant your thoughts on the topic, Bollywood movie make Rs 75 Lakhs in one day. Whatever happened to Pakistanis not watching Indian movies
65lakhs in a country the size of Pakistan is actually nothing when a simple billboard ad for a month costs twice as much and where billions are dealt with everyday in just one market in karachi. So I wouldn't toot that as an achievement if I was you...

Ummm that's75 lakhs in one day??? For a mediocre Bollywood movie,

For reference, the super duper hit Pakistani movie made Waar, oozing with patriotism and Pakistani pride, grossed 1 Crore 10 Lakhs on its first day, only 35 Lakhs more :rolleyes1:

And that too after they released waar in more number of screens compared to kaabil. As per some tweets by pakistanis, Kaabil is going houseful wherever it is being shown.

compared to biggest pakistani hit 'waar' that got 1.14 crore on first day(and adjusting for fact that it was 2013).. this one is neither hit nor flop... any recent movie to compare against? pakistan seems to be a small territory.

5 years ago when the economy was in shambles. If that doesn't tell you anything then nothing will.

I'm just sitting back and enjoying how you indians are trying so hard to convince us that your movies actually mean anything in Pakistan!

Yes Pakistan is a small territory, please take your cheap Hollywood knockoffs somewhere else.

I dont distribute.. lolz.. I was just saying compared to territory size '75 lakh' is a sizable amount(in terms of seats sold, not money, its probably small change for producer).
Waar apparently ran 100% full house and did 1.14 crore... what I mean was, lots of pakistanis watched this movie.(although about commercial part, we need to see overall collection not first day only)

A bill board advertising costs a few crores in Pakistan. 75lkh has no meaning there. Face it, it was a flop.

did you just pretend not to understand what I wrote about seats sold? Waar made 1.14 crore which is a small change(a billboard advt costs a few crores in pak, apparently).. yet it is considered biggest hit in pakistan...

do consider that waar was released in 2013. at that time number of screens in Pakistan were very low. after release of waar we have added atleast 20-25 screens.

BTW i will not consider Kaabil as a flop movie either.

Consider the time and place of the movie waar and that too, when the economy was in shambles due to wot. On top on that, the movie was in English so only English speaking Pakistanis saw it. Even then it broke big records. The producer of waar even said that had he known the outcome would be this good, he would've made the movie in urdu. There is no comparison between the two here!
