Hello comrades,

I've been wondering. Just how much Pakistanis are owning guns/assault riflers/machineguns?

.
Pretty much everyone from what I know, even my grandfather had a one of a kind pistol gifted to him from someone in the army during 1965. It’s like the us, I’d say 97% of households hold atleast one

In AJK i think most households have a firearm. Law enforcement is lax around here so anyone with some expat money has an AK-47. Heck even people without do.

Funnily enough i have never been in Pakistan long enough to get a licence and a firearm. I would like to get one.

In Ajk, we have alot of guns let it be Pellet ones or the real ones. Every household has atleast a Double Barrel Shotgun. That they use for Protection purposes(Wild Animals cant be killed with a pellet gun) or hunting.

As one poster said years ago our ak's deter the govt from trampling over our liberties . You take the public gun ownership out of the equation the police might do a model town every fortnight

Karachi has a lot of guns. Almost every household from the first MQM era have ak47 etc.

Its not due to the government but due to lack of government most people have guns

Kindly stop spreading false narrative. Guns are not as common in Karachi as you said but criminals do have them.
Guns are common in Karachi. Nowadays people don't get new guns as much as before since it's safer. People don't openly carry guns (except security guards/escorts) but the majority of people who can afford them have them in their house.
Isn't MQM like rectified now?

MQM's days are thankfully gone now, though under Musharraf they made a resurgence and terrorised Karachi along with TTP and other political parties. TLP is starting to act a lot like MQM though, I'd keep an eye on them.

Karachi is not like Ex-Tribal area in terms of guns so kindly don't spread lies, guns r not as common as many here are posting about Karachi. It's my city and I know it well.
