What's new

how the US invasion transformed Iraq from a secular westernized advanced country into a theocracy

how do you explain people welcoming americans, destroying saddam's statues etc. majority surely hated saddam, whatever might be the reason. I dont think iraqis inspite of terrorism will want to go back to saddam rule (majority shia + kurds).. only sunni minority and bathists will want him back.

tv's and newspapers showed what the victors ( iran government + usa government ) wanted them to show... many iraqis left for other countries as refugees, especially to syria, but this wasn't shown... @Syrian Lion

that infamous saddam statue fall... those were traitor iraqis who allowed that usa army vehicle pull down the statue... below is that vid... look at the public gathered like a pack of hyenas... do they have a happy iraq now ??

are you disputing that current iraqis will still not want saddam back, inspite of all this mess. you need reality check mate. You cant judge people just because they wanted saddam out, saying they are the baddies.
they also dont want americans to rule them, which they made quite clear.

but you said in previous post that iraqis don't want saddam rule back.

you should read dilip hiro's book, "iraq - a report from the inside", which is his account of his visit to iraq prior to the 2003 invasion... he writes of rationing and sanctioning and sewerage system faults because certain pumps could not be imported ( or made ) because usa government declared them "dual use".

the whole of iraq suffered... why should certain shia or kurd be cut out for special treatment ??

they also dont want americans to rule them, which they made quite clear.

present iraq military cannot exist without help from iran and usa.

Seems like you forget that Saddam's "secular flag" wasn't "secular" from 1991-2004.

He invaded and absorbed Kuwait and to gain popularity in Kuwait which was not secular at the time he had to temporarily add takbir on flag.

Oh yeah sure. Which is why he kept it.
And that invasion was so popular among Kuwaiti citizens...

Kuwaiti citizens were okay with it. Iraqis and Kuwaitis are both Arabs. The US on the other hand was not.

Marijuana must be real good in Canada eh?
Kuwaiti citizens were not happy, Saddam's army treated them like shit.

advanced enough, and it would have bettered if not for 12 years of sanctions after 1990 and then the invasion of 2013... my uncle stayed there and said the place was fine... this was until the 1990 "gulf war".

may i ask, what was your age in 1990 ??
Advanced in what?.

on the contrary... his mistake was invasion of kuwait.

how was he cowardly ??
many mistakes like the war against kurds the war against Iran and the invasion.

When you insist to stand against a big power then you should never ever let them have the first strike you should never let your army slain he ordered the army to withdrew from kuwait while the army was under constant attack all that to keep his power I spit on his grave the coward that made Iraq in chaos and civil war for only god knows.

ah, that fable again... ba'athi component in isis.

may i ask, what does your user-name refer to ??
That isn't fable that is true we Iraqis and we know them well.
Baathis behind most of the killing in Iraq they use extremists to do what they can't do and they use them as a name to hide their crimes behind them you don't know what's going on that's fine but don't make yourself a fool spread their propaganda.

my user name refer to a freedom fighter in our history.

Iraq so called democratic government did same mistake which Saddam did. Now it comes rule of majority which divides Iraq in sectarian line & its profit gained ISIS in the face of Sunni's support.
How they did the same mistake please elaborate.

those were traitor iraqis who allowed that usa army vehicle pull down the statue... below is that vid... look at the public gathered like a pack of hyenas... do they have a happy iraq now ??
Why don't you show some respect to the Iraqis?.....But what would we expect from a guy loyal to Gadhafi!!!! why didn't you stay with your Gadhafi why you still in India doing what?.

spreading thoughts from gaddafi's "green book". :)

if you think that is a easy job, you are welcome to come here and try.
That's your business stay away from Iraqs affair since you think the same way of your finished dictator.

sorry, do you represent every iraqi mind ?? because you yourself just spoke about the baathis still present... obviously they don't share your thoughts.

tell me, what is your opinion about "mujahideen-e-khalq" during iran-iraq war ?? it will help me know more about your thoughts.

. .
Why don't you ask Libyans which is better? Gaddafi era or now? :disagree:

Gaddafi would have had his guts for garters.

Not of my business I would say libya would be better without Gaddafi but the others intervene destroyed the Libyan dream just like in Iraq.

I can say it firmly I represent most of the Iraqis.

Ask Iranian about Khalq they know them better.

But we Iraqis never welcome their existence in Iraq as they were tools in Saddams hand.
