How popular is prem chand and his works in Pakistan?

I admit I am very surprised to read these posts.

I had the impression that Indian / Hindu authors would have been kept of the books in Pak schools.

The 'real' Pakistan exists outside rhetoric infused articles, expert reports and the so-called intellectual discourses on it. The more you talk to the 'ordinary' Pakistani...the more you'd be surprised.

We had "Eidgaah" in our urdu text book..though don't remember exactly whether that was in 10th grade or inter level..
