So you are just a 17 year old guy?you must be the youngest PDF member..good to see such youngster showing interest in these type of forums where people can share and gain knowledge. Generally youngsters of your age are busy with facebooks ,whatsapps ,girl friends and boozing(in india atleast)

He was a great writer and among those without whom Urdu literature cannot be said complete. We had his texts in our urdu syllabus when we were in school back in 90s' and am sure his other work can also be found in Pakistan.

No doubt he is the great writer, writer of common people. it is impossible to choose just one.

My favs are Eidgah, Poos ki Raat, Godan, Nirmala etc....
eah character is closely related to the common people and has purpose. Reading his stories are like visualizing everything and it takes you into the story.

I admit I am very surprised to read these posts.

I had the impression that Indian / Hindu authors would have been kept of the books in Pak schools.
