How flawed is India's foreign policy that China is threatening war with us?

The issue with Indian foreign(and domestic) policy(ingrained into diplomats & bureaucracy from the Nehru years) is that for far too long its relied on a watch and wait sniveling attitude with larger powers which has led to a frustrated public. This has allowed extremists to push their agenda and now that they control the thoughts and morals of the Indian majority, they are trying to push their attitude in foreign policy as well. Unfortunately, the problem with that is the Indian extremists are so used to their bully mentality as being part of the majority that they cannot stand even an iota of being stood up to and when a larger bully confronts them they are lost for action.

no you give too much. you take expensive loan, sell your land and security.
we know there is no friendship in world politics only mutual intrest.

you go too far.....
Yada yada, here comes the usual ignorant Indian mind fed from their own media. Who think Pakistan looks their slums in Mumbai where they marginalize their muslim populations into.

If we give our claims on the land and handover our land to them and agree to do what ever they want with our country ,China will be more than happy, but we don't call that diplomacy

We'll find it out in coming decade :)

So, true...As someone pointed out, where is Arnab Goswami? The usual war monger or should I say he speaks on behalf of Indian establishment...

He is no more to see now a days because Indian establishment, who is pulling his strings, don't want any confrontation with China....So, he can't bark against China...Just like he pretend to be macho when it comes to Pakistan...

Indians make me laugh non stop.

didnt expect such reply from oscar.
what i said has nothing to with minority opression issues of india. to a contradiction i actually belive that muslim youth is criminalized and extremism is fed because of poverty and lack of opportunity they face in india.

no govt has done any good to them but used them as vote bank. infect the only hope i see is from public not any govt.

India has no use or point being the Yamato. Its good a middle class that still needs grooming, massive social issues that unlike China it cant execute its people to fix; and a growing extremism in all aspects of society(not just communal) due to a general right wing takeover of social and electronic media.

Regardless of the bluster of the 56 inch chest, methink he bit off more than he could chew since his mix of liberal economics and extremism to keep power in Gujrat is causing India's social fabric to come apart like nobody's business. You have ISIS like Bhakt devotees running rampant on social media and on the ground in that all important central axis going from Dehli to Mumbai were even common people who generally would not give a rats arse on such issues are taking sides now out of fear of being marginalized.

So clearly, that Yamato analogy would be some machoism personified if the Yamato had not ended up getting sunk in a clinical fashion whilst being unable to land any meaningful blows back.

Ill repeat again, if there was even an iota of Brain within the current crop of religious extremists running India and representing it online; they would look at 50 years from now to where the resource shortages will be and who will be left surrounded and practically unable to defend itself against what are inevitable resource hungry hordes coming for its fertile lands.

Ill give you this on record, Pakistan for all its roles beyond the death of Jinnah and the unceremonious sidelining of the original Muslim league leadership by the unionists ; has been led by nincumpoops in civil clothes or in uniform out for their personal glory using either religion or other means to get attention. India on the other hand, had the guiding hand of Nehru and his well aware successors(till Indra who had a different background to prove) guiding foreign policy.

Today however, it seems India has truly joined Pakistan in having the same crop of hot headed egoistic idiots having no idea of what they are doing; be it in the foreign policy department or in domestic policies. At the least one can credit the Chinese for guiding Pakistan with ideas and recommendations along the way even if it exploitative to an extent; it does serve Pakistan's interests... who is doing that for India right now? A egoistic man whose accomplishments in liberal economics are tampered by his need for self aggrandizement and akhand bharat reincarnated?

I'm thanking your post only on one FACT that India is joining Pakistan on the ideology that devastated Pakistan some 40 years back. That is true as God.

However, the discussion is not about who went past what in history but who stands at a better position in Geography.

and to me Pakistan is in a clear disadvantage and so does China.

The politics have changed Sir.

And Sir I really can't comment beyond what you have virtually put forth on current Pakistani affair. I'm equally distressed on what you have foretelled on Indian affair however I can only wish and it's our true effort that so and such audacity can be curtailed. That I can assure you as an Indian. I have nothing beyond to say at the moment.

The past has all the effects on the present. Imagine if the opposite had happened; the original educated lot of aligarh and internal UP/Punjab/Sindh had guided Pakistan along with Jinnah till the mid 50's. This would be a different nation entirely. It is that legacy of Nehru and the early educated congress leadership that led to the entrenchment of the already established ICS into a useful institution that kept India "guided" for a while. As an example, I know the current diplomatic representation of India in Pakistan and most of them are smart young guys who know both their territory and the world.
Compared to that, Pakistan's diplomats are generally the crop of idiots one wouldn't give as tellers at a national banks branch in forgotten rural land. That makes a hell of a difference, but just as with US diplomats currently trying to hide their faces during this Trump administration; many Indian diplomats are now in a fix after the initial Modi Fever passed over them; because now the unrest has hit their families at home as well in some manner or the other.

I engage with "actual" Indian outside of the shitheads that generally come from the country on PDF, and they are usually left apologizing rather than anything else over the events. Because to them this is NOT their society, not their people and not the attitude they were used to. Much like many Americans tend to apologize over Trump but some of his milder supporters just like those of NaMo state "At least he is getting things done".. to NaMo's credit he is but at what cost? What hatred is he willing to inculcate and brew in his quest to remain popular and in power?

That is the question that has to be asked. Both from within and outside.. if India truly wants to be what is claims to aspire to be.

What exactly is that cost that leave Indian diplomats red faced over Namo?
