The mutation for Green/blue eyes is a complex one. It's most likely that these are from a common origin as opposed to independently springing up, otherwise it would be much more prevalent in brown eyed populations.
Yeah, this genetic mutation could be perhaps older than we thought, maybe prior to the Caucasoid/Mongoloid split.
Since it can never explain how some Mongoloid groups can have the recessive gene of the light eyes even without any Caucasoid admixture.
Do you think green eyed people in South Asia also have a common ancestor?
I dunno, I've seen many Arabs with green eyes as well.
Im not talking about the Central Asian mongoloid groups, Im talking about the Central Asian Caucasians that migrated downwards after the Turkic invasion. Some of those current more Mongoloid peoples probably have these peoples genes.

I was talking about the ethnic minorities in the Northeast China, not in the Central Asia.
