This is a purely unscientific poll. Please, this not about judging you, your country's decision personally. I'm simply interested in Pakistani views on CPEC, today, post several years after it was signed.

There is a narrative among several other countries where the Chinese offered these high-interest infrastructure loans where they have now soured on the deal, had its people feeling like China pushed them into a debt trap and forced it to give up parts of its sovereignty. YOU MAY NOT FEEL SO.. and that's okay_ hence poll. SO- what's the consensus, if any, among Pakistani's?

CPEC is Chinas martial plan for Pakistan .
If the martial plan was good so is this.

It is upto Pakistans leadership and its questionable bureaucracy to decide if they want Cpec to favor them or the country.

The MARSHALL plan was economic aid in the form of 'grants' which did not have to be repaid, and was not about trying to build infrastructure to make US goods accessible into Europe. CPEC and Marshall plan are polar opposites

First of all there is a huge difference between Chinese relations with Pakistan and that of others. If you ask anyone who is the most trusted ally of China, most will name Pakistan. This relation is based on half a century of help and trust. Strategically Pakistan holds a very unique position for china, its the key to western China. CPEC is even more important for china than for Pakistan, not only it opens the western landlocked china, it also gives an alternate lifeline in case of sea blockade.
In order to keep the access to arabian sea, china needs a Pakistan allied to it as well as stable. Any actions like debt trap and giving up parts of sovereignty would be counter productive for chinese and hurt their interests. They also need an economically and militarily strong Pakistan to keep india in check and provide crucial backup in the indian ocean. The world powers understand this well and hence their withdrawal of financial and other support from Pakistan as it would be akin to strengthening chinese interests.
Also Pakistan is a large population country and hence the new connectivity infrastructure brings in new communities to the mainstream and increases opportunities. I know an indian who visited Pakistan and was blown away by the roads and connectivity and called it many times better than india.

Knowing everything we know today we should have build less power plants. But apart from that? Its great. It eliminated electricity shortages for the must part. No one was willing to invest penny in Pakistan.

Need to work how to reduce theft, line losses etc

It's up to Pakistan gov to match and exceed the projects constructed so far. Educating children to achieve great things should be the next focus in all the sciences and engineering.
