What's new

How different a Bengali Muslim is from a Pakistani Muslim?

No offence meant but today marks 44 years since Bengalis Muslims separated from Pakistani Muslims.

Isnt it strange that you need to ask this question after these 44 years.

Your elders will update you.

I haven't met a single Pakistani in my life. How could I know the difference?

Indians are very diversified .Of Course we also have Bengali people like you and then we also have NE ,Kashmirs,Punjabis in North .And in SouthTamils,Kanndiga,Malayalis etc .
Tall, short ,dark ,light etc .We are so diversfied.

Hey, Bengalis are also diverse people. We have tall, short, dark, fair, black, mongoloid people.

But India will remain more diversified than Bangladesh .Because India is a large country .

Most Indians look similar, have this "desi" appearance like us.

Few Indians look somewhat different, which includes the Sino-tibetan speakers, some (not all) Punjabis and Kashmiris.

Rest, forming the bulk of the Indian population, are short and dark like people in rural BD.

Buddy ,This is not about narrow minded approach.Of Course Good looking is very subjective .
But for average guys ,they will look your size ,colour ,face features. It is their opinion and freedom.
Fact is I dont know ,I didnt visit GCC until now.But our friends have same opinion. And all of them are highly paid professionals.

They also said another reality .BDis dont have good opinion about Pakistanis .

I don't think we need such racist statements on this thread. Being Indian, the foremost thing we should respect is diversity. And, even dark, or short can be good looking...I don't know why people discuss color.

Enough with the brotherhood crap.

Bangladeshis are Indians first & last foremost.

Pakistanis are.... Well Pakistanis.

This is very offensive to call us Indians. We are Bangladeshis. What do you feel if someone call you Indian or Afghan?

Again, avoid generalisation. India has a huge population and most diversified country in the world.

So it depends on the wealth , resources .Agreed.

They are educated and so have rational approach towards the things happened around their society.
Let me explain. The reason why generalizing people based on physical attributes is so damaging is because it creates unreal and artificial barriers between peoples. It creates a sense of superiority in one group (e.g. white people) and puts down another group, which also reacts by declaring itself superior (e.g. black supremacists). This is a recipe for disaster, and has worked numerous times in our conflict ridden history.

Interestingly, the differences in physical attributes may be insignificant or even artificial and non-existent (see Hutu vs Tutsi of Rwanda). The result is all the same. There are people who try to play up these differences, for their own personal gain. This was done successfully in Rwanda, Yugoslavia, and between Pakistan and Bangladesh, among many others. You and your "friend" continue in the same tradition.

Take that opinion lightly dude .Dont be so serious .I already said I dont know about that because I didnt visit GCC.
We dont have such agggressive appraoch towards colour or race .We will just express our opinion and leave it in there.

I read in PDF that Bengalis are way different from Pakistanis. I wonder how different are Bengalis compared to Pakistanis? Isn't Pakistan itself a multi ethnic country with several different cultures? Punjabi, Sindhi, Pashtun, Baloch, Tribal culture etc.
Bro their is no difference when we stand to offer namaz... Than why any true muslims think about any difference about our culture as it changes in every 50km...We will always stand by our DB brothers...

Your "friend" is a small minded individual. "Good looking" is very subjective. And generalizations are not always helpful. There are short and dark Pakistanis, and there are tall and light skinned Bangladeshis. So what.
Tall and light skinned Bengalis :lol::lol::lol::lol:

Apart from Islam we differ to Bengalis in absolutely everything. We are next to the Middle East wheras bangladesh is 1000s of kms away. Pakistanis completely differ to Bengladeshis in terms of physical looks, race, genetics, culture and heritage. We have virtually nothing in common with bangladeshi people. Pakistanis are racially and geographically more closer to Arabs, Turks and Iranians/Persians than bengalis.
