Ethiopia, unlike most African nations, have little to no resource, whether it be oil or Iron or any other pericious commodities. But like China under Deng Xiaoping, Ethiopia is starting to open to foreign trade after being closed of by the Derg (ድዐርጝ ) Regime till the Meles government. It rarely in Africa, because usually FDI by Chinese forms usually means that China is after commodities for it's industrial base, but in Ethiopia we see the opposite. The Ethiopians seek Chinese machinery and knowledge to create an industrial base, just like how China did with Taiwan, Japan, Singapore, HK in economic zones in Shenzhen and Canton. While Ethiopia can't offer minerals, they can offer large, cheap and diciplined manpower.
