As the titles says, how can I get access to my recorded lineage in Haridwar without going there physically? Has it been digitized? How do they present the information to you (ie do they just list your ancestors' names and the date they died or do they tell you there occupation, where they lived, etc)? Has anyone on PDF gone there?

Hi, you will be surprised to know the way records have been kept and updated for generations.

Since nothing is digitalize therefore you have to go there personally to know your lineage. Also you have to have some of your ancestors names and their place of birth. In case any of your relative has accessed his/her lineage then check the pundits name from that relative as it might come handy.

Best of Luck

How far back to I need to know my ancestor's name/birth place? I know my Grandpa's and I might have my Great Grandpa's Date of Birth/Death/place of birth. How many centuries does this lineage chart go back?

Hi, The Info you have seems good enough provided your grand parents had ever visited Haridwar or some close relative had ever updated records there.

You got a fair chance of getting your lineage.

I just had very little info about my grandpa's ancestral home in Rawalpindi but after just half an hour of effort, I could find the pundit having my ancestral record for last 350 years.

Best of Luck
