How about the Arab kings donate a few billion dollars to save these poor people out of their trillions, oh wait, they aren`t terrorists so no food and water for them. It does not matter that they are their fellow muslims or whatnot, let`s let the USA and western nations deal with these non Israeli-Arab conflict related poor Muslims and Christians and whatnot.

UAE agencies to boost Somalia famine aid - The National
Humanitarian organisations met in the capital yesterday to hammer out a plan to boost aid to victims of the devastating famine in Somalia.
Aid groups held talks on how to speed up the relief effort to combat the unfolding humanitarian tragedy in the Horn of Africa, described by the United Nations as the worst hunger emergency in a generation.
A UAE aid delegation will visit Mogadishu in the next two days to co-ordinate the provision of food, medial supplies and drinkable water to famine victims.
Representatives from Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Humanitarian Foundation, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Foundation for Charitable and Humanitarian Works, Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Humanitarian and Charity Establishment and the UAE Office for the Coordination of Foreign Aid met at the Red Crescent Authority headquarters in Abu Dhabi.
The meeting follows directives by the UAE leadership to address the unfolding humanitarian tragedy.
Ahmed Al Mazrouei, chairman of the RCA, said the meeting was fruitful and would have a positive effect in backing international efforts to ease famine, indicating that it would also boost the UAE humanitarian role in Africa.
The UN launched a global appeal three weeks ago for Dh500 million to provide assistance to Somalis, and asked the UAE Government on July 13 for help and "direct intervention".
The UN refugee agency then formally asked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to contribute. It said the UAE had been forthcoming in its recent efforts to help Libyan refugees, according to a statement by Brigitte Khair Mountain, head of office and senior adviser for the UN High Commissioner for Refugees
The famine is a result of a devastating drought in the Horn of Africa, compounded by war, neglect and inflated costs.
Famine is officially defined when two adults or four children per 10,000 people die of hunger each day and a third of children are acutely malnourished. In some areas of Somalia, six people are dying a day and more than half of children are acutely malnourished, said Mark Bowden, the UN's top official in charge of humanitarian aid in Somalia.
Across East Africa, more than 11.3 million people need aid, the World Food Programme said.
"Somalia is facing its worst food security crisis in the past 20 years," Mr Bowden said. "This desperate situation requires urgent action to save lives."

Aid telethon for Horn of Africa begins today
A three-day nation-wide fund-raising telethon for sending relief materials to the victims of famine and drought in the Horn of Africa will be rolled out today, Shaikh Hamdan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Public Works and Chairman of the National Media Council (NMC), announced on Tuesday.
The humanitarian drive will be launched under the instructions given by the President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and close follow up of General Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, under the theme ‘Suqyahum’ (Arabic for ‘Quenching their thirst’

Ordered by Shaikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in the Western Region and Chairman of the the UAE Red Crescent Authority (RCA), Shaikh Hamdan bin Mubarak said the media campaign demonstrates the noble humanitarian stances of the leadership and people of the UAE in coming forward for assisting the people affected by drought and famine in the Horn of Africa.
“Upon issuance of presidential instructions, the NMC has immediately swung into action to contact local broadcasters to coordinate the launch of the fund-raising campaign,” Sheikh Hamdan bin Mubarak said.
Abu Dhabi TV will coordinate with fellow TV and radio stations to launch the three-day campaign starting today for 90 minutes daily.
Shaikh Hamdan lauded the two-day telethon announced by Dubai Media Incorporated (DMI ) aimed at raising funds to provide emergency humanitarian aid for famine-struck people in Somalia and other drought-hit Horn of Africa countries.
Called “A’inouhum” (Arabic for “Help them”_, the fundraising telethon, which is part of a media campaign by DMI under the instructions from His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, is being broadcast on Noor Dubai TV channel, Noor Dubai radio station and Arabic daily Al-Bayan on Tuesday and today.
He also commended the “Save Them” fundraising telethon which got underway in Sharjah by Sharjah Charity Society through Sharjah Media Corporation (SMC) in response to the instructions by His Highness Dr Shaikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah.
Shaikh Hamdan asserted that all these humanitarian efforts underline the determination of the UAE leadership to alleviate the impact of the unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe in the Horn of Africa which claimed tens of thousands of lives, mostly women and children. He appealed to good-doers and philanthropists in the UAE to donate to the Horn of Africa aid campaign for easing the suffering and saving lives of millions of needy people.
Over 165 million people in the Horn of Africa region are affected by the drought which hit Somalia, Djibouti and Ethiopia. During the past few weeks, around 29,000 children died of hunger.
The RCA urged citizens and residents to donate food items, goods and medicines to help in the aid provision efforts.

Two aircraft with large quantities of relief items were sent from the Dubai International Airport on Wednesday and Thursday to assist those affected by the drought in the Horn of Africa.
The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Charity and Humanitarian Foundation supervised the airlift on the direct orders of the President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to 
provide urgent support to Somalia.
Ibrahim Boumelha, Vice-Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Foundation, headed the delegation which accompanied the plane that departed on Thursday to Ethiopia. “The aid relief contained 84 tonnes of relief materials, including 53 tonnes of canned food and dates, 15 tonnes of emergency tents and 15 tonnes of carpets and floor mats,” said Boumelha.
“Distribution will be made to refugee camps located at the Somali-Ethiopian borders in the Dolo region, Somali territory, which lies 928 kilometres from the Ethiopian capital. The other plane, which was sent on Wednesday by the foundation to the Republic of Djibouti, carried 93 tonnes of food items and tents, and distribution was done on the Djibouti borders,” he added.Boumelha said members of the foundation supervise the distribution process targeting 30,000 families. A total of 150,000 people have been displaced in the region near Djibouti.

UN aid drive in Horn of Africa needs nearly $1b, official says
About 22% of humanitarian funds to Somalia come from UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar and other regional nations
Valerie Amos, Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator, said the UN humanitarian effort in the Horn of Africa still needs nearly $1 billion (Dh3.70 billion), out of a total a total of $2 billion, to meet the immediate needs.
About $1 billion is needed just for Somalia because of the famine, Amos told WAM in an interview.
"We already raised over a billion. Organisation of the Islamic Conference (OIC), in its recent meeting, pledged $350 million for Somalia, but it is not yet clear where that money will go."
"Donors from the Gulf and other Muslim countries have contributed a total of $69.2 million since the first of July. The OIC conference on August 18 in Turkey announced a pledge of $350 million," she added. She noted that 22 per cent of the money that has flowed into particularly Somalia recently has come from the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Qatar and other regional countries.
In terms of bilateral donations, Saudi Arabia has given $50 million for Somalia, Kuwait $41.4 million and the UAE Red Crescent Authority raised $40 million through a recent telethon, according to Amos.
The senior UN official is in Abu Dhabi on the first leg of a two-day visit to the UAE and Kuwait.
"We are looking to establishing a presence in Abu Dhabi. In Kuwait, I will be opening a regional workshop which will focus on the crisis in the Horn of Africa," she said.
