1.) I have not said that it isnt down to genetic factors that homosexuality occurs. But it isn`t easy as that either. Sexual orientation is likely not be down to just one factor.

And I used the cross species example to tell people that its not something which is taught to young people by "gay propaganda" as some people believe.
2.) Your second assumption that its a "disease" is not only far fetched, simplistic and spoils over with ideological homophobic hatred, it also tell me that you should update your information on this topic in particular.
Surely, homosexuality is a paradox in evolutionary biology. At the first look, it does indeed not make sense for a species to have individuals which do not reproduce. However, why does this trait still exist among thousands of species? Why has it survived the process of natural selection for several periods of time ?
And since its a very active field of research in evolutionary biology there are several hypotheses which try to find an answer to this complicated question.
And again, your assumption that its a "disease" is simply dumbed down, plumb and without any back up. This is a very complex and interdisciplinary problem.

4.) A person can still suppress his/her sexual orientation. That does not meant that sexual orientation does not come from genetic and environmental factors as outlined above.
