NEW DELHI: The Home Ministry has withdrawn the NSG Black Cats security cover of RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav and Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh and they will now be guarded by CRPF. Both leaders will continue to get a Z-plus security cover though.

This comes after demands from the NSG to reduce their VIP security duties so that they can concentrate more on their specialist anti-terrorism and anti-hijacking role. NSG still has at least a dozen protectees like Mayawati,Mulayam Singh Yadav, Akhilesh Yadav, LK Advani, M. Karunanidhi and J. Jayalalithaa. BJP President Amit Shah gets a Z-plus security cover from the CRPF and Lalu Yadav and Raman Singh will now get the same level of security.

Minister of State for Personnel Jitendra Singh also now gets a Z-plus cover from CRPF while other ministers like Rajiv Pratap Rudy and Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, Radha Mohan Singh, Anant Kumar and Babul Supriyo have been accorded a Z-level cover from the CRPF, ET has learnt from Home Ministry officials.

who on this earth will attack these filthy thug aloo aka lalu??:omghaha:.

NSG also comprises of CRPF and other paramilitary personnel only. It is rather better to have one agency like CRPF to protect VIPs. Amit Shah deliberately asked CRPF for its protection.

NSG is amalgamation of personnel from CISF, SSB and ITBP also, they are not as efficient, battle hardened and CI experienced as C.R.P.F.

The SRG of the NSG (the sub-unit responsible for VVIP security) should be whittled down to almost zero and the remaining few that remain should act purely as support elements for the CT force the SAG. I agree 100% that al VVIP protection duties should go to the CRPF or CISF.

The NSG was never meant to be a VVIP protection force but grew to become this thanks to egotistical politicians, thankfully successive governments have now reduced this VVIP burden on the NSG and in a few years time the NSG are likely to be able to devote near 100% of their resources on their primary task- CT ops.
