You guys angrily cry all the time about 100 years of humiliation by other nations...don't you think it might be possible that you just bring it upon yourselves simply by inaction? Maybe that really could have been only 5 years of humiliation but you let it go to 100.

You're confusing me with other posters.

I never complained about the 100 years of humiliation. The past is the past.

I'm only interested in current events, technology, and the future.

China's strategic actions have to make sense. Reclaiming Taiwan now by force is illogical. I don't see it happening in the near future. The liabilities outweigh regaining the island now.

China retakes Taiwan by military force. What's the next step?

The US Navy is going to harass Chinese shipping. What is China going to do to stop that? It can't at the moment.

In 20 to 30 years, the Chinese Navy probably could stop the US Navy on all of the world's oceans. Thus, China should wait 20 to 30 years. This is elementary logic.

The US Navy is going to harass Chinese shipping. What is China going to do to stop that? It can't at the moment.

It's pretty sad when millions of your own people side with the US instead of their own homeland. Maybe that in itself is a good reason to postpone a takeover idea. You really want to manage an island full of angry people waving US flags?

By retaking Taiwan, China can push its control of the airspace deep into the Western Pacific.

I'm arguing that China doesn't have a solution to the economic problems posed by the US Navy at the moment.

Hence, retaking Taiwan should wait until China is ready.

Governing Taiwan isn't a problem. Hong Kong has a population of 7 million and they're not exactly pro-Beijing.

Taiwan only has 23 million people (about 3 Hong Kongs). Governing 3 Hong Kongs should be pretty simple for mainland China's 1.4 billion people.

China is the contender for the heavyweight championship title of the world.

The US is the aging world champion boxer.

To continue with the boxing analogy, there's not going to be a knockout punch because there's not going to be a championship fight. The aging boxer will just retire and forfeit the championship when he sees the strength and ferocity of the challenger.

Another example is China's H-20 stealth bomber. It won't be ready until 2025. China will need more years to build a fleet of H-20 stealth bombers.

Those H-20's especially are going to be something from Hell. Imagine a squadron of those packing a dozen hypersonic anti-ship cruise missiles each being sent out against an enemy carrier battle group -- that's not war, that's just murder. Those carriers are going to get murdered!
