Indian Muslims are full citizens with full rights, they can also become the prime minister of India or take any other high office, unlike Pakistan that restricts non Muslims from high posts. Clear display of religious racism.
But this does not mean we take in people from other countries and make them Indian citizens.

If a Muslim can become president in India then definitely one will become PM someday, it might take maybe 200 years but it will happen.
Nobody thought a black man could become president of USA in his wildest dreams. Now thats the power of a piece of paper called constitution.
But in case of Pakistan with an unjust and biased constitution, even equal rights between all faiths is impossible let alone leadership.
Accept it that Pakistan is Islamic and no other religion has any rights over there that can remotely be termed equal.

you seems to be a good educated person but your good thoughts can help when terrorist and fascist Modi's party is in power.. soon India will become Hindu Rashtrya .. in US there has not been any terrorist party in power so your whole thesis of drawing a parallel with US is flawed.. right now in Indian parliament out of 545 members only 10% are non-Hindus and no Muslim from BJP.. While in Pakistan there is a specific quota for non-Muslims .. they can elect on open elections still to ensure their due representation seats are nominated.. so don't even dare compare it with Pakistan..

Only with extreme pressure by non Muslim organisations along with international organisations the Pakistani govt was forced to abandon this unjust separate election system, but who is going to answer for the lost decades and also how long will it take to bring non Muslims Pakistanis to the mainstream..?
