It was certainly a great moment of harmony among all the four provinces.
GWADAR: The Chief Ministers of four provinces signed the historic 7th National Finance Commission Award (NFC) on Wednesday.
The ceremony was witnessed by Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani and members of his cabinet.
The Award was inked by the finance ministers of the four provinces in the presence of Punjab Chief Minster Shahbaz Sharif, Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah, NWFP Chief Minister Ameer Haider Hoti and Balochistan Chief Minister Aslam Raisani and Finance Minister Shaukat Tarin.
Under the NFC Award provinces will get 56 percent share of the federal revenues and 44 share has been allocated for the centre.
In his address, Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani said NFC award is a result of democracy and victory of all provinces. Federal government wanted to make provincial governments more powerful to strengthen provinces. He said the official age for government jobs in Balochistan would be 35 years. Prime minister said terrorism is a cancer and all political forces are united against it.
Federal Finance Minister Shaukat Tarin said every province gets benefit from NFC award. The biggest obstacle was mistrust among the provinces and the center. The federal government took measures to restore the confidence.
Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif in his address said the biggest achievement of NFC award is it caters the complaints of small provinces. We will compensate the sufferings of Balochistan collectively. India is interfering in Balochistan, he added.
NWFP Chief Minister Ameer Haider Khan Hoti at this occasion said a new journey has begun under leadership of Prime Minister Gilani. Now every province has sufficient resources.
Nawab Muhammad Aslam Raisani termed the NFC award as positive beginning for Balochistan’s development. He urged more autonomy for the provinces.
