There is no need to attribute some sort of higher motive to them. I am all for people eating what they want, but have no doubt about intention of anyone who throws a beef party in India.

I had a Keralite colleague while I was in Dubai for a project. Whenever he used to go India he brought "beef pickles" and used to offer me. I came to know from him that in Kerala beef is ok for Hindus. The person was far more religious Hindu than me and used to follow all rituals unlike me.
