I was not aware of BBC also publish such rubbish... by the way they forgot that election happened under caretaker government not under BNP and AL was in power from 1996-2001... n BNP stopped the hindus to cast vote and went in to rampage and rape to prevent them from voting and hasina madam said she support minority... this all tells about the story...

Some indian AL affiliated group created this fuss to paint a bad image of BNP...just after they won the elction with more then 2/3 majority...

But obviously only accusation but no proof has been submitted...

n rape and rampage during election story really raised the credibility of this article...

i dont get why people vote for leaders who only banks on religious extremism(be it hindus or muslims), they will only make people from different religious group apprehensive of each other and make the society backward. Only letting hindus and not any other religious groups seek asylum in india in times of difficulties shows how shallow BJP's(not india's) thinking really is.

Utter rubbish... just published before election with certain agenda... without any proof other then assumption... it lost its credibility when it said BNP encouraged to attack..on hindus due to influence by ISI and oil money... There are something myth, and something which is truth...

1. Myth: Non muslim suffer in Muslim dominated country..
Truth:The Non Muslim accept Islam by their will in muslim country thats why There number decrease.
2. Myth: Gadkari offer is based on communal ism.
Truth: Time to time these kind of offer made by countries. lets not forget Pakistan offered Indian Muslim to come to Pakistan. And whats wrong in it, The countries were made on basis of religion. those who were not able to move in 1947 can move now...

And its not irresponsible comment. When some atrocities happen on Cristians West condemn it, when Jews suffer Israel ask them to come and settle in Israel. When something bad happen to Muslim Pakistani Leadership condemn in strong word... Then Why not India???

though India is secular country but still its Hindustan... Bharat and aryavrat.. Its not illogical to give them shelter if they are suffering in other country...

There should be laws like in US - if there is a credible threat/religious discrimination to their life in their home country and if they seek asylum the Hindus must be given citizenship.

i have never seen any discrimination to hindus in Bangladesh. . I have many hindu friends. . No one had any trouble for being hindu so far i know. . .. . Yes there were some post election torture on them in 2001 .. . That is for not being hindu, for being soul supporter of Awamileague.. This is common incident in south asia though i don't support this . . .

Mistreatment on secretarian basis usually happens in rural areas.

That's great, We are human, most of time usually we behave humane... .. I believe The Hindus living in Bangladesh are safe (coz its there home) ...

But still in case if some Bangla Muslim feel insecure at India, he should be access to bangladesh.. Same applies to Bengali Hindu......

BJP president Nitin Gadkari on Wednesday said Hindus who faced religious persecution in Bangladesh were welcome anytime to the country and should be given citizenship status here.

Addressing two largely attended election rallies at Patharkandi and Ramkrishnanagar in South Assam's Barak valley that goes to the Assembly hustings on April 4, Gadkari said the BJP was firm on its stand that the Hindus from Bangladesh should be accepted even if they came after the cut off year of 1971.

"However, there was no question of giving citizenship to indigenous Muslims residing in the state for long and then those who have come after 1971 shall have to leave the country," Gadkari said in the minority-dominated areas near the Indo-Bangla border.

Launching a scathing attack on the ruling Congress both in the Centre and state, the BJP president said that corruption had become the rule of the day.

"The Congress was against any probe into all the corruption cases which will reveal their role", he alleged.

"Corruption will be the main election plank for BJP and we will be seeking mandate with a promise to provide good governance if voted to power", Gadkari said.
