Hindu group attacks cathedral in central India: police

People can freely choose in what to believe as a higher being.

That cannot be banned, it would be protected by the constitution. What can be banned/regulated is the selling, i.e. proselitizing. I see no reason why people selling religion should not be treated on par with people selling anything else. Prove your claims or face consequences.

Even lions are vegetarians in BJP's India ? :woot:

Err...these are the Asiatic lions (India is the only place you still find them), the very same chaps who feasted on the prisoners in Rome.

It may not be possible to completely ban conversions but I have always argued for clear regulation on conversions & limiting how proselytizing is done. This is a law & order issue & must be seen as such. People wishing to convert must have no problem submitting an affidavit saying so before a magistrate. Will certainly help the district administration in figuring out where possible flashpoints are.

If that is so...why the bigotry....why so much hulla about ghar wapsi. Either you allow all forms of conversion or none...cannot be selective in approach.

We are not living in Roman times. Given how church pews are empty in Europe and emptying up fast in almost all Christian countries, we will not need lions either.
Thanks for your concern towards Christianity..............If its so why are you worried about conversions in India..........Believe me once the Reservations for ST/SC is revoked ....................It will be green pastures for them

ya.. both should be allowed.. conversion is every Indian's right... why should everybody inherit something which is basically a belief. I did not inherit my father's political belief.

Once temples are freed of govt control and can control their own finances, it will be Christianity free India then.

Ghar Wapsi is not a concern for Christians.........................Church will Knows that you cannot force or lure one for conversions.....................It has to purely through your service to Society and Humanity.....................

If conversions aren't done at gun point, which they aren't,there is no legal ground to ban them.People can freely choose in what to believe as a higher being. You could try feeding Christians to the lions though, but that didn't pan out for the Romans either.
India is not Rome, nor are we Europeans. We are Hindus and India is a Hindu Country,we been that way since past 6000+ years and unchanged. While the rest fell to christianity, we didn't.So tell me what is the need for Christians to convert Hindus to Christianity? Why are christians so worried about Hindus?

It is a personal matter as are many others but many can still require regulation. This is my opinion (no problems if you disagree) but I see conversion issue as mainly a law & order problem and make suggestions accordingly. Think that is the law in some states.

because ghar wapsi is at gun point mentality

Really....then ban all conversion..dude I have stayed in a Christian missionary for 5 years. Know it in and out..lets not spill the beans. Either you allow conversion or not...thats it.

marriage is a personal matter too. So is wilful sati. And cocain too. But it also has a wider social impact and thus regulation is perfectly ok.

God give me a break...targeting the poor...paying them money and allowing their kids a place in the missionary schools a seat and free hostel accommodation..if these are not luring then I have to go learn English again.
