PESHAWAR: Senior Provincial Minister for Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Bashir Bilour on Monday inaugrated the plan to hoist the highest national flag in the historical Jinnah Park.

The flag, with the height of 185 feet, will be completed by June 30 and the total cost spent on the plan would be Rs2.6 million.

Bashir Bilour said the plan was a result of the efforts of the ANP. He
said the party is ready for a dialogue with militants if they surrender.
Speaking about the Saraiki province, Bilour said everyone under the constitution has a right to struggle and his party would support the province.

Mr. Bilour has shot from his backside because under the same right people of Hazara also have the right to have separate province which his party is opposing it so how can he supports the same for saraiki belt when he is not willing to support it for own province

It may help morale to have the highest national flag in an area with highest density of problems.

If the sum quoted is correct, it would have been better that it was used to alleviate the problems of the people there. That would have been a more productive, practical and salutary way to spend the money.

But politicians be they from anywhere in the subcontinent go in for gimmickry, more to satisfy their ego than worry about the people.

ANP is anti-Pakistan and since every other party has started their election campaign in KPK, ANP this time has a nice way to appease the voters, and by hoisting this flag, they wants to show us that they love Pakistan as much as we common man do - my damn foot.
