How very unfortunate for some members of US society. Well, as I always tell my students: it is only education and hard work that is the final equalizer , if you are born a minority or if you are born to an economically disadvantaged family, you can raise your social standing through education, which will enable and empower you to find a noble profession. It is then the ethical and moral responsibility for you, as a parent, to provide for your children and give them the opportunities that were unavailable for you.
