Here's what the Kaaba looks like from inside

There was no Kaaba before Prophet Ibrahim and Prophet Ishmail (PBUTA). Heck, there was no Arab tribes existed in the Mecca. It was barren land. Then, the old barren [yes, old barren wife] wife of Prophet Ibrahim (PBUH) was blessed with baby Prophet Isaac (PBUH), and no longer needed Prophet Ishmail (PBUH) and his biological mother Hagar who married Prophet Ibrahim (PBUH) upon the request of his barren wife who could not conceive child before and desperate for the child.

Then Prophet Ishmail (PBUH) and his biological mother traveled to Makka, barren land with no population and no sign of water. Then, in desperation his mother went to search for water, a little water streamed right in front of Prophet Ishmail (PBUH) beneath his leg as he moved [with his leg], and the water stream was called Zam Zam.

Because of water, people started coming. Then as grown Prophet Ishmail (PBUH) with Prophet Ibrahim (PBUH) who visited his son built Makka together. A plain and clean Makka [not the one we see today]. No idols and no fancy decoration. Through them, Ishmailites [sect of religion-alike] was born who promoted Monotheism religion and Monotheism practice.

Years later, many tribes joined Makka, and one man bought idols for decoration as i mentioned above, knowledge disappeared along the way. According to Islamic scriptures [Authentic hadiths], Prophet Ibrahim (PBUH) prayed for leader who could cleaned the filth of Kaaba [filled with idols eventually]. Then Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was born, from his generation, his family lineage, his Ishmailities tribes who practiced Monotheism.

Makka was built by Monotheism lovers aka Prophet Ibrahim and Prophet Ishmail (PBUTA) in the barren land no sign of civilization. Civilizations came later as many tribes mingled including the one with idols worshipers. It is on the historical record.

Two things happened; Water and Makka with the family of Prophet Ibrahim (PBUH), and revived by the family lineage traced to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) from Ishmailites tribes. It was always family business who adopted and practiced Monotheism. Without them, there would be no civilization to begin with, never mind certain tribes with third-party religions that hijacked Makka - started as decoration became religious symbol.
Historians might differ. Anyways hardly matters.

How can historians differ? It is on the historical record. In fact, the name of Prophet Ibrahim (PBUH) was well-known, and well-researched, not to mention the rivalry between the lineage of Prophet Ishmail and Prophet Isaac (PBUTA).

The structure that stands high in the middle of Makkah’s Masjid Al-Haram is the Holy Kaaba — the most sacred site in Islam. Considered the ‘House of Allah’, Muslims the world over turn towards it when praying. But have you ever wondered what it looks like from inside?

The area, that doesn’t exceed 180 square metres, contains three wooden columns which hold the Kaaba’s ceiling.

Sun will align directly over Kaaba today

Over 1,350 years old, each of the dark brown columns have a perimeter of around 150 centimetres with a 44 centimetre diameter. Each column has a squared wooden base. Between the three columns is a pillar from which the Kaaba’s gifts are suspended.

This pillar passes through all the columns and its sides extend to the northern and southern walls. Here we look at what the Kaaba looks like from inside.

What starts as Monotheism, later hijack Monotheism to Polytheism. Take prime example of Bhagvad Gita. Even today, you won't find example of endorsing idols worship in the Holy Scripture of Bhagvad Gita. Its religion is pure Monotheism, but the culture that started as Monotheism became Polytheism filled with idols and decoration and whatnot.

No, you are wrong. The original Kaaba was built by Prophet Adam (AS).

Abraham first appears in Judaism then bible then in Quran. As per Judaism and biblical accounts Abraham did not travel to Arab peninsula or construct any Kaaba.
What is undisputed though that before Islam, mecca was a pagan temple.

Adnanite Arabs are descendants of Abraham, through Ishmael and probably the sons of Keturah.

Many of them continued to maintain their monotheistic traditions even until the time of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). They were called "Hanif" and the Prophet's (pbuh) father was one.

For historical facts I would refer Judaism or Christianity as those predate Islam and will not give any twist to Kaaba related facts.

Prophet Ibrahim (PBUH) was the same person that is mentioned in Judaism, Bible and Holy Quran. It is called mentioned in the Abrahamaic faiths [Holy Scriptures], not appeared.

That's why most of the stories from Judaism, Bible to Holy Quran are persistent, hence acknowledged, and historically documented as well.

There was no civilization in the barren land with no water called Makka before Prophet Ibrahim and his sons Ishmail and Isaac (PBUTA). That is historically documented.

Prophet Ibrahim's son Ishmail (PBUH) emigrated to what is known as Makkah, the Arab civilization. His second son, Isaac (PBUH) emigrated to Egypt what is known as Hebrew generations who converted to Judaism. Without Prophet Ibrahim (PBUH), there was no civilization in Makkah which was barren land as historically documented attested, hence no point was conquering empty and barren land called Makkah.

Judaism and Bible have divided into the sects that had mentioned the names of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) as Final Messenger for the whole mankind. Nonetheless, their knowledge on Prophet Ishmail (PBUH) and Makkah is pretty limited, hence Holy Quran and Authentic Hadith are the best option to gain more information on Prophet Ishmail (PBUH) and his family lineage, and from family lineage, Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was born.

Even in neutral source, there was no civilization in the barren land with no water before Prophet Ibrahim (PBUH). This is well documented. Their sons emigrated, hence the new beginning of Judaism/Christianity and Islam. Everything is tied together links to Prophet Ibrahim and his sons (PBUTA). Again, this is historically documented in the neutral sources. You cannot argue against that.

Even Mohammed started with Jerusalem being qibla of Muslims but later made mecca as qibla. Mecca might just have been place of tribal pagan temples and to give it significance story of Abram etc might have been attached.

The direction of Qibla was Jerusalem by default, but later changed it to Makkah after the conquest, no doubt. But you are ignoring the origin of Makkah.

There was no civilization in the barren land with no water called Makkah. Prophet Ibrahim and his son Ishmail (PBUTA) happened which resulted the miracle of water stream called Zam Zam and the construction of Makkah with their bare hands.

The question is that were they polytheism or Monotheism? In neutral source as historically documented, they were Monotheism worshipers who erected Makkah in the barren land with no sign of civilization. Then the civilization happened. Then, that's how Makkah was hijacked with third-party religions like idols,...etc. Then, Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) from the family lineage of Prophet Ibrahim and his son Ishmail (PBUTA) through the Ishmailites tribes that endorsed Monotheism practices for years revived Makkah to the original Monotheism practice.

The bottom line is that Makkah was always family business, and always will be. Prophet Ibrahim and his son Ishmail (PBUTA) built Monotheism Makkah with their bare hands, and Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) from the family lineage of Prophet Ibrahim and his son (PBUTA) revived Makkah [filled with idols that came later] to Monotheism Makkah by cleansing the filth of polytheism.

You cannot ignore the origin of Makkah which is well-known and historically documented in neutral sources. And to be honest, Monotheism Makkah is family enterprise from Prophet Ibrahim, and his son Ishmail to Muhammad (PBUTA). :D

They might be descendants and monotheists. My point was that Adam and Abram might not have constructed Kaaba or might not have even travelled to Mecca. Stories might have been attached to this place as Adam, Abraham were popular mythological or cultural or religious figures.
It is a religious thing for you so you believe that Adam constructed Kaaba. But if I have to see it from neutral POV then I will first see whether anything that predates Quran or Islam talks abt their journey to Kaaba let alone Adam or Abram building Kaaba.

I wouldn't argue much as I have limited knowledge as well as this is a touchy topic.
Judaism started at least a thousand years before Islam. Christianity 500 yrs before. Both mention Abram and descendants. Is there any reference to Kaaba built by Ismail or Abram or Adam before Islam originated? That is my only point. My google search doesn't give any result. What I do not deny that descendants and monotheists might have been in Arabia before Islam. Second point just out of curiosity... Pagan used Kaaba as temple...did non muslim monotheists and Muslims also used it as worship place...I mean is it a mosque?

No, you are wrong. The original Kaaba was built by Prophet Adam (AS).

Which was destroyed during the era of Prophet Noah (PBUH)? The Kaaba that is built by Prophet Adam (PBUH) is not the one we see in Makkah. That was destroyed during the era of Prophet Noah (PBUH).

The one we see, Monotheism Makkah, is built by bare hands of Prophet Ibrahim and his elder son, Ishmail (PBUTA). Then, revived by the family lineage, Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) after Makkah was filled with idols after civilizations from all kind of tribes settled in Makkah later.

I wouldn't argue much as I have limited knowledge as well as this is a touchy topic.

You have to look at the regions. Judaism and Christianity appeared in the most populated regions like Jerusalem, Egypt, and more in the middle. Many Prophets were sent there. That was the generation of Prophet Isaac (PBUH), second son of Prophet Ibrahim (PBUH). Judaism and Christianity recorded only Prophet Isaac and more Prophets that came afterward like many Prophets; Prophet Moses and his brother, Harun, Jesus [son of Virgin Mother Mary (R.A)], David and his son Suleiman, Zecharia and his son John, from the family lineage of Prophet Ibrahim and his second son, Isaac (PBUTA) in those populated regions that were not barren, and water everywhere. That's why the information on Prophet Ishmail (PBUH) is limited since he emigrated to Arab side, not Jerusalem/Egypt/somewhere close.

Whereas after Prophet Ishmail (PBUH), his family lineage aka Ishmailites tribes carried on. No Prophet was sent after Ishmail (PBUH) until Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in Arab regions. In the barren land with no water stream and no sign of civilization, only two Prophets were sent there; Prophet Ishmail and Prophet Muhammad from the family lineage of Prophet Ishmail (PBUTA). Hence not much to discuss though.

The bottom line is that you have two sons of Prophet Ibrahim (PBUTA). One that emigrated to Jewish dominated regions hence Judaism, Christianity,...etc. One that emigrated to Arab lands, hence Ishmailites tribes [Monotheism] and Islam. Of course, no mention of Prophet Ishmail (PBUH) who emigrated to Arab regions , not Jewish dominated regions.
