I don't --was simply replying to any article and a Pakistani one at that, which was talking about Brand Pakistan learning from brand India. Now, when a Pakistani article talks about learning from India, why should I be worried about Pakistan's image?. Clearly, the author here sees Indian as superior in at least creating a better image.

The alleged "indigenous" orbiter that india launched was made using equipment, means and technology that was made by NON-INDIANS. Namely the West and/or Russians.

Trust me, one of the hardest things to do in the world is be jealous of india or indian people. If I was going to be jealous of economic, technological, military or scientific prowess, I would be jealous of China, Germany, Scandinavia, Japan, America and at least another 110 countries before I could be jealous of india.

I never said there was no poor in Pakistan. But that NO INDIAN is in a position to judge Pakistan especially with the many problems including poverty that india faces.

Yes there is an image problem, and finally there is 4 page thread on here so people are trying to address the issue.

There is many things that can be done but lets first understand the root causes of why there is an image problem:

- Pakistan is not paying foreign news agencies for positive press.

- Google news as an example of an outlet is full of Indian news on Pakistan thus letting the enemy define what outsiders are seeing about your country

- SELF DEPRECATING BEHAVIOR. Someone has already mentioned this here and it is so very true. People in other countries know how to represent their country, always a positive spin and consistent. Pakistanis will vent their deepest insecurities to the world. Nobody likes someone that hates themselves.

- You are Muslim. Muslims are not well liked in the world generally. It becomes even harder when you are not a rich Muslim and can't afford the positive press.

- Mullah sydrome - These idiots justifying pedophilia and mysgony and are vocal about it. Nobody likes that.

So how do you solve the image problem?

- Get a grip of your media and dominate Pakistan news in Google at the very least.

- Pay off foreign news agencies for positive news

- Do good things and report about them and make them go viral like chai wala episode.

- Get rid off the paedophile Mullahs who do not respect women or Pakistan. Destroy them.

- Start a clean the country drive

- Do kind things for tourists and visitors

Very true. It's especially saddening to see Pakistanis, upon coming to the West, exaggerating the conditions in Pakistan and making themselves look like victims of some evil regime and portraying Pakistan as some kind of post-apocalyptic wasteland to gain sympathy, when in fact their lives in Pakistan aren't/weren't really that bad.

Yes, Pakistan has problems. A lot of problems. But so do most countries, even developed countries have a lot of really serious problems. They just don't advertise those problems, while simultaneously trying to reduce them.

actually, when we say that only pakisatn is grappling with extermism, terrorism, poverty etc is one side of picture. name any country which has not extremist fraction of society, which has not uneducated masses, and in present scenario which country has not been, powerful countries, inflicting terrorism somewhere in the part of the world.
actually i am not saying that we should sweep these problems under the carpet and turn our eyes off but i am saying that the vigorusly our problems are highlighted because of our hypenated situations or strategic importance. we are present b/w the two emerging economies. we are dealing and playing with one superpower adn one emerging regional power. we are in the midst of transition of alliance from one superpower to another emerging one.
IMO, countries are relatively stronger, relatively weaker and relatively good or bad. so for this reason our evils are highlighted more than of anyone`s.

And this is why Pakistan will never change. It's already just as good as anywhere else in the minds of too many of its own citizens.
