HELINA tested on ALH Rudra.

U need to update yr info. Currently, guidance is based on an imaging infra-red (IIR) passive seeker that ensures a high-hit accuracy in both top- and front-attack modes. mmW seeker, on the other hand, is intended to operate as an optional system that can replace the IIR passive seeker as a module...

Stop giving me lecture from wikipedia boy.All your source is wiki. It's you who should update his knowledge, not me.There was a thread in pdf named 'DRDO chief Dr VK Saraswat annual address, some pleasant surprises'(courtesy-ganimi kawa). There the picture of the mmw seeker was displayed. So it's already has been developed.

Oh imbecil...

mmW tech is available, but for 10 KM air launched version.

Air-launched, 10 km-range variant launched from tactical interdiction aircraft like the upgraded Jaguar IS. It will use a nose-mounted millimetric-wave active radar seeker.

Great news.

Now, Nag will fly down from heli and bite the enemy to the dust.

Again wikipedia!!Don't you get bored??The operational HELINA will make use of S band mmw seeker and Ka band 2 way datalink. This configuration was tested some months back and it was also posted and discussed here on pdf.You should have checked for it.By the way,the so called air version for Jaguar IS has long been abandoned, instead they will use CBU 105 censor fused anti armor munitions.Update yourself mate.

Oh you never understood what did I want to say!!The IIR seeker can be easily replaced by the mmw seeker when it's ready for induction. So untill the mmw seeker is operational(no one knows when),all versions will continue to use IIR seeker but when the mmw becomes available the HELINA will be fitted with this. It's necessary also because the IIR seeker has limited all weither capability especially during day time when the hot desert makes it problematic for the IR seeker to pick up a tank's engine heat and also due to the fact that tanks are using various counter measures to reduce their IR signature with heat absorbing thermal paint, multispectral camouflage and use of cooling systems in their engines.

Now you have tweaked yr reponse, but thats fine, at least you are off the high horse situation.

Some questions, how reliable is the source and was it reported anywhere else? If HELINA would be available soon, does IA really need a foreign missile?
