Its not just about money ,there are other things too..Pakistan not having money was the last thing in my mind when i posted the previous post.

If I remember correctly, in 2007-08 time-frame Mushharf or someone from Pakistan went to China for negotiation on J10B. They sat in the plane or something similar. Fanboys in PDF went ape over J10B and everyone was hailing J10B and DSI (Diverterless Supersonic Intake) as next biggest thing after wheel and then it all died out.

Few months back it was all about Su35.

Now I guess it is JF-17 Block 3 all over the place.

That said I will still say JF-17 is better than LCA currently. Atleast the plane is doing something it was supposed to.

I believe FC20 is export version of J-10B. Atleast thats what wikipedia says.
Also, not trying to be picky here but the title of the thread should be "Is this fighter plane the FC20" and "In China it is known as J-10B".

Who knows what the future holds , a old saying money talks and everything else walks Pakistan does not have that money but it will everything can happen.

As for the "money" part, it's on the way. IMHO, you aren't doing bad even without that vis-a-vis keeping the 7x larger adversary, who happens to be the largest arms importer, at bay..

That is what it seems to be on the surface---but in actuality---

I would disagree---the 7 times large opponent has won the last 4 battles---in 2002---2008---2011 and this year---.

no offense, but Pakistan seriously can't afford new jets...the economy is in the gutter, tax collection is $$$hit. Under ~90 billion dollars of debt already...Can't even think of new jets. Will probably have to make do with existing j-17 production.

I,m constantly in favour of j10b. Because of less price comoared to European fighters and technologically and aerodynamically superior to JF17. Few squadron of it will help us stop gape measures till j31 or anything else. It will be equipped with most moderen chinease avianics, radar, weapons .
Other choice is to get second hand eurofighters from italy and may be spain as well

I never understood why Pakistan chose jf17 instead of j10,,while being marginaly expensive,,its bigger n better,,moreover,j10 being chinese airforces mainstay is sure to get upgrades constantly,,it was the best choice

Probably China was not prepared to share the technology in a TOT to Pakistan regarding the J-10 fighter back in 2004-5... it was it's premiere fighter ... like it did with JF-17. The J-10 was offered only as a sale. On the other hand the PAF were motivated to embark on a program which would put it on the path of greater indigenization in fighter aircraft production i.e. the JF-17 program.
