Hats off to this Algerian athlete

. .
Winning a medal or two would have earned more respect. Dedicate your medal to the Palestinian cause to bring media attention.
Its about recognizing your opponent. Sports bring people together. You have to first recognize your opponent, respect him and play fairly.
Moreover, Its about honor and dignity. One or two medals is nothing compared to winning hearts of Muslims masses. Bunch of medals or forever honor?

Fair point about recognizing your opponent. But the thing is, and this is just my personal opinion, this lad would have won more hearts if he had competed and won and then dedicate his win to the cause. Anyways, we are talking about it so he still managed to generate attention.

Hats off to a loser who had no chance of winning anyway, that he decided to make a name for himself in other ways.

An Algerian goat herder wanted to be famous for 30 seconds and inserted himself into a conflict which has nothing to do with him. His neighbours are all making peace with Israel while he sits in some Algerian hovel with regular power cuts.

Basically many Arab/Irani/Muslim sports people fear the humiliation of losing to an Israeli athlete, so they run home but pretend it's for 'palestine'

:omghaha::omghaha:

What's the point of that? You think anyone but Algeria is reporting that he left so he wouldn't have to face an Israeli? On the Olympics coverage it will simply say Algerian athlete forfeited.

You trying to laugh it off shows it pierced u in the ***. You ugly creatures dont even deserve to be recognized, no wonder u scum are running around begging nations for recognition.

Yes, I am cut to the quick that a 3rd rate goat herder has allowed the Israeli athlete to progress through the tournament.

Everyone is so desperate for Algerian recognition. God knows Algeria is SUCH an important nation in the world, everyone is talking about them.

A failed state with regular power cuts. Anyway this so-called 'athlete' (no real athlete quits) will go back to his goats where he belongs.

Oh and Israeli coached Czech basketball team BEAT Iran. Sent them packing too :cheesy:

Says a first class pig. Why r u scums running around begging muslim countries for recognition then? A prime example is a scumbag like u living on a Pakistani forum, Pakistan that doesnt even recognize that satanic evil scum exists. All ur life u ppl will be spending money and sending women so that the world looks upon u like ordinary humans but that wont happen and ull always be animals.

Lols he is just a coward .... afraid of being defeated by Jew....This is real Hero Amir Khan...

A man that turns his back on olympics and forgets about medals because of his Muslim brothers and sisters cannot be called coward but a true champion. He had prepared himself for plenty of punishments from athletic to financial ones. He has risked his future as an athlete and his carrier as the only source of his income for sake of Palestinians.
That's the true bravery.

It's just an overly emotional decision at best or a cheap publicity stunt at worst, nothing would have sent a stronger message than actually beating his opponent. Yk what would make actual headline, winning gold, surrendering it to bring attention to Palestine instead of "cowering" a refusing the fight an Israeli.

Why even take part in the Olympics, which is a western competition, founded by the West and controlled by the West? Same with football world cup. Some muslim countries want to do politics using sports but are also desperate to be included in the game. You should join in the sporting spirit or not bother getting involved.
