What's new

Haryana cops to drop Persian, Urdu words from FIRs

Oho, nothing new. Its India's revolution in purifying itself from Invaders..
Next step.. send the Muslas to the conversion center.... if they dont comply ..gas them!

And you think taking a few words from the FIRs is Indian purification revolution.

Nobody in Haryana including Muslims understands some of the stupid words used in FIR and offices so its better throw such words out to where they belong and use more understandable words.

. .
They are Persian loan words used in Urdu. I don't know if there are any "native" Urdu words.

Farsi was the official language during the Mughal period and as a result we see many of these Persian terms and phrases still being used in courts and police proceedings.
.
I would be surprised if even 1% of Indians understand the meaning of these words, not even Indian Muslims.

Mudai, tameel, taftish, daryaft, missal, tarmeem, istagassa etc these are urdu words.... for example... muddayi is shaki in persian... muddala or accused is muthim etc etc ... as for indian muslims... thts bcoz urdu is almost as good as dead in india...

Example of some Urdu words to be replaced Haryana's police department:

Sipahi (Police) = Nafarkhlopamongogu
Griftaar (Arrest) = Shruyarimoliatiya
Qaid Khana (Prison) = Fistaraghublaghbur
Adalat (Court) = Qadimanolitarohini

Cant even pronounce them ... haha

Is there a problem somewhere ?

Its their state - they'll make their own rules.

Why should it bother anyone else ? least of all across a 60 + year old border ?

Firstly , its not dead.

Next, even in its ' dead ' state it is spoken by more ppl in India than in Pak given tha fact that in Pak outside Punjab it is nit the preferred or first language.

Lastly, even if its dead - so what ?

The fact that you were attempting to pronounce the gibberish written in post No 30 says something.

accept it dude,u r a commoner.classic texts r not for u,btw those words remind me of arabic than sanskrit.

.
it never was used prevelant in India except for some regions of UP, Bihar and Hyderabad where it still is a prominent language

Dude those languages arent even close to english... for example... called "ho rahay" as hooooray" .. even if we do .... its still in decline in india... and as i said before "almost as good as dead"...which was once the lingua franca of british occupied sub continent....

Childish and not even funny as "f" and "q" sounds are not native Indian sounds.

Or you can say...

Sipahi (police) = Sainik... or aarakshak

Griftaar (Arrest) = Bandi banana

Qaid Khana (Prison) = karagaar

Adalat (Court) = nyayalaya...

Now beat your head with it....:hitwall:

Lol... got nothing to say.....

As for urdu in Pakistan... its our lingua franca... everyday nows urdu in Pakistan.... its taught in every province... so please dont even bring Pakistan in your rants if you dont know anything abt it...

.
This is step backwards for India.

Oh well, all the best with 20-letter long Hindi words which no one else understands outside Hindustan.

So you are saying it makes sense to use these words because Pakistanis understands it? It does not matter if locals do not understand it. That does not sound logical to me.
