What country works the most each day?

Japan may be the first to spring to mind, with its legendary work ethic, but according to the latest study by the Organization of Economic Co-operation and Development, Japan comes in second place with an average of 540 minutes, or nine hours, spent doing paid work and chores such as shopping and cooking.

So what nation is the hardest working in the world? Mexico, according to the OECD.

As the chart above shows breaking down daily minutes of work, Mexicans spend 594 minutes, or 9.9 hours, doing paid or unpaid work each day.

The nation that works the least, according to the survey of 29 economies, is Belgium with a total of 427 minutes (7.1 hours) of work each day.

The OECD average was 277 minutes (4.6 hours) of paid work, and 207 minutes (3.45 hours) of unpaid work each day.

How much some other major economies worked: China (8.4 hours of paid and unpaid work), The U.S. (8.3 hours), India (8.1 hours), Australia (8 hours), the UK (7.8 hours), France (7.5 hours) and Germany (7.4 hours).

In total minutes of paid work only, Japan worked the most with 6.3 hours on average each day. Denmark worked the least paid time (3.75 hours).

Mexico had the highest average of unpaid work (4.2 hours) and Korea the least (1.3 hours).

French spent the most unpaid time doing shopping each day (32 minutes) while Koreans did the least (13 minutes).

I have read a translated book called "Arab Mind" by RAPHAEL PATAI. That book is stunning. Actually it's like he knows us more than ourselves. The thing I would agree with about Arabs are their refusal to work in jobs under the sun or any physical work, they prefer to work either as worriers or as Academics although with less salary. So, yes they are lazy. There is a reason behind this. However, this is starting to change. Hopefully.

Interesting article, personally I believe 7 to 8 hours per day is the maximum number of hours a person should work. In my opinion it creates a balance between work life & personal life while retaining productivity. If the working hours are too less, then people aren't going to be able to get much work done. If an employee is required to work for too many hours daily without any unique monetary or fringe benefits, he or she is likely to get frustrated as the work load takes a toll on his/her personal life. Not only will this result in a loss of productivity, creativity, & levels of motivation, but it may result in a chaotic social & personal life. Employers must attempt to monitor their employees' performance & aid them in dealing with any issue they face regardless of it being work related or not.

Yes i wanted to write that to. Lets calculate this bullcrap. You must be on work by eight in the morning. Before this you must wake up hour ago to get everything ready. Maybe two hours.. dipends on where your job is. Just say that you stand up 7 o clock. 8:00 you are on work. From 8:00 to 17:00 you are at your job (including lunch time). After that you go to house again lets say you are around 17:30/18:00. Then you change clothes etc. and have dinner so time will be 18:30. On 22:00 you will go to bed so you can weak up good.

So you spend 11 of the 24 hours for your money. You will have 4 hours for yourself and then sleep again.. Just 4 hours...

Man capitalist system is based on injustice. People live under stress.

What I meant is that a guy here would prefer to stay unemployed for too long rather than working as a carpenter, construction worker...etc. Although those get more salary than academics. For example, Jordan is a county with modest budget and about 90% of people are from middile class and with 15% unemployment, yet, there are 1 million foreign workers!Youngs refuse to work in pgysical jobs and they are like waiting being apointed as ministers. Then, they blame the government for this. Some are starting to work in those jobs. Last weak, I read news about applying for job as superintendent at schools in KSA, half of 50 applicants were Saudi nationals with Bachelorate degrees, that was a stunning news to hear. I believe we wouldn't be strong nations without building our homes and buildings, plant our corps, make our clothes, manufacture our appliances, clean our streets ourselves. Egypt is an exception, that's why I think it can be a strong nation.
