Haqqani leaves for US

ISLAMABAD - The main character of memogate scandal and the ousted Pakistani ambassador to the United States, Husain Haqqani, has left for US through a connecting flight from Islamabad airport on early Tuesday.

Haqqani would land in Abu Dhabi first and from there will fly off to the US. Husain Haqqani reached at Benazir International airport early in the morning amid tight security and moved into the lounge without speaking to media.

Earlier on Monday, the Supreme Court lifted travel restrictions imposed on him.

And Haqqanis family is still in the US, most probably living on the governments money. Remember, Haqqani holds no government post.

The important point to note here is that the decision to lift the travel ban on Hussain Haqqani was made by the Supreme Court of Pakistan after a request was submitted to the court by Haqqani’s counsel. We reiterate what the State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland said in regards to this matter: "We continue to expect that Pakistan will resolve this situation and other internal issues in a transparent manner and upholding Pakistani laws and constitution."
