What's new

Happy Raam Navmi to all

who can forget those days when you were a small boy of 6 or 7 and you were sitting next to more than 9 girls God! and then being served the halwa and chane with puri as if you were truly hanuman God i wish they could compromise a bit with the age.

at that time i never liked sitting with girls :hitwall::hitwall:
and now girls dont sit with me

See the thing is god never influnces us to do something good or bad. It is the choice which we make. as i gave the example for nuclear power in the other post. god gives power to both good and bad because both of them are his beloved sons. But when the good guy uses the same power to make energy and the bad guy uses it make bombs and threatens good guys then god has to take sides to maintain the balance of nature.

I know, that's the sort of answer I would give too (according to my beliefs) but sometimes I just wonder, we all believe in fate, right? Taqdeer, naseeb, muqadar? i.e. everything is pre-written, why would God write something bad? To Him, our lives are like a movie on desktop. Things change to us but He's the writer of our movies, hence; the writer of villains and their intentions as well. I just want to know how a Hindu would think on this matter.

first of all, thanks for elaborating on this. now the question arises, why does God have to send His Avatar to eradicate evil when it grows beyond a given threshold? i mean He is the ultimate power, so why does He even create evil (if He is the creator of everything) at first place.

Just like prophets were there in Christianity and Islam, the old ages had their prophets too.

Islamic theology recognises as many as 124,000 prophets. The Qur'an identifies 25 prophets by name, starting with Adam and ending with Muhammad. Five of them (sometimes known as Ulul Azmi or the Imams — literally: "leaders" — of the Rasuls) receive the highest reverence for their perseverance and unusually strong commitment to God in the face of great suffering, namely.

Indian mythology dates much earlier than Christianity , islam or judaism.

so its possible that these can be also prophets in another sense of argument.

studies of molecular biology give evidence that the approximate time of divergence from the common ancestor of all modern human populations was 200,000 years ago

so it means god hasn't started to take humans seriously from 2000 years ago. he may have send lots of prophets which we may not know.

See God needs some fun too.. so he created evil to test people.

well in this regard i generally disagree with those who say that everything is pre-written even in Hindus i disagree. I believe in theory of karma. It is our deeds that decide our destiny. God just show us path and sends us to the cross roads. like at any point of time you have choices. either you can study or you can have some good time with friends. it is you who make choice and the results are accordingly. if it was pre written then you will never have to choose between the two. Life is more about the choices you make then some thing pre written. Thats my practical analysis of the subject matter.

As a hindu i believe in the theory of karma. What i sow today i will reap tommorrow. My job and the work which i am doing is the biggest puja which i perform. I just do my job and lay down the results with god he will take care. That makes life bit easy when you dont have attachment with success or failures. Hinduism basically bhagwat geeta says have attachment with your work not with the end results. after all end results are for a instance or so but your work is a continuous process. if being impatient and continuosly make life hell in love with end results would make life difficult. so better to give off love for end result and love the process to achieve the end result. it makes the whole journey beautiful

To add spice... a hero cannot exist without the existance of villain. If there would be no evil or no darkness how will the light and good exist. The whole notion of heroism and light will end up.
