Happy new year, How to celebrate it.

Do we have space to add new events in our culture and traditions?

Happy new year, How to celebrate it according to our Pakistani culture and traditions. Ideas....

. . .
The only annual celebrations for Muslims are the two Eids. New year should be celebrated like every new day, by thanking Allah that you made it this far in such a turbulent world.

End of story.

.
My question is gentlemen can we add it as cultural event not religious and develop our own ways to celebrate it more like desi Pakistani style because young generation is going to celebrate it any way so according to me it is far better to develop our own ways and customs instead leaving kids to do it western style.

Then we should teach our children about what Islam says.
From what I have heard it is the two Eids which are supposed to be celebrated in Islam. No other festival can be celebrated.

I don't think so Islam forbade us to celebrate any cultural event which is not against teaching of Islam.

We don't need special days to be happy. Change your outlook, company and interests and you can turn everyday into an Eid.
What is bad in that if we allow newer generation to enjoy with the rest of the world within the limits of our cultural and religious boundaries?

Well I believe celebrating the Prophet Muhammad (saw)'s birthday is wrong and against the teachings of Islam.

Islam forbids any major annual celebration other than the two Eids.
Would like to have proper source and reference for this.

No, I don't think so...but the way it is being celebrated is objectionable and should be debated....leave it aside since it is off topic sensitive issue.

lol, you can find a few Muslims celebrating the Prophet Muhammad (saw)'s birthday only in South Asia.

It is an innovation.

Pop crackers, a good roast meal with roasted potatoes and gravy, enjoy the festive occasion and have funnnn!

Depending on Country and choice :D
Crackers .....:disagree:

Rest of I agreed.

If you don't get me wrong can you post a link or ayat from Quran clearly mentioning the subject like Hadith you posted in link.

Since the Ayat mubarka does't address this issue link provided by you.
