Christianity offers the world Hope, always. In these troubled times this reassures me and I and my family do our best to keep on keeping on.
A quick view of Calvary, the crucifixion of Christ, and his rising from the dead, which epitomizes our Easter relgious observance is found in the Book of St. Luke, Chapter 18, verses 31-33: "Then he took unto him the twelve, and said unto them, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem, and all things that are written by the prophets concerning the Son of man shall be accomplished. For he shall be delivered unto the Gentiles, and shall be mocked, and spitefully treated, and spit on; And they shall scourge him, and put him to death. And the third day he shall rise again."
To us Christians Jesus was the living sacrifice as the Son of God, to atone for the sins of all mankind, for those who believe on Him to have everlasting life in Heaven when our earthly days are done.
Happy Easter.
