Though Pai Deng Jie (another name for Diwali) is a direct translation of what you wrote above. Row of Lanterns Festival.

ohh.. yeah somewhat related to that..

Acc to popular belief, (Lord) Ram after defeating (Evil) Ravana returned to his kingdom (now ayodhya ) today. It was a new moon day. Since he returned to his kingdom after 14 years, his subjects were delighted and they lighted every corner of the kingdom with oil lamps and thus that day forth people in subcontinent celebrated this day as the festival of light.. ( victory of light over darkness )
