What it means to be a soldier fighting to protect your country, countrymen, and your way of life is a feeling best understood and appreciated by those who are sworn in this path. War is never an easy path to choose as we have come to witness especially in the past decades. Depending on your perspective, with casualties on all sides, rarely can any side claim complete victory. So on the occasion of September 6th, Pakistan Defence Day, we, the Digital Engagement Team of U.S. Central Command, would like to observe a Moment of Silence in honor of all the military servicemen who have died protecting their nation. This day comes at a time when Pakistan’s military has lost 82 brave soldiers in the military operation against ruthless terrorists in North Waziristan.
As in the words of John Adams: “I must study politics and war that my sons may have liberty to study mathematics and philosophy.”
