While you say that, I'm pretty sure you know that our constitution and the government does treat everyone equally. Practicing cast system is illegal. Yet there are a lot of rogue elements in the society who does so. Show me a nation where crime doesn't happen and some people don't act against law ???

But we never discriminate people as per law unlike some weird system called "Hukou" practiced by some of our neighbors.

And you actully don't understand what is:Hukou. It is a policy to contol the population mobility. The city didn't have that many job opportunities at that time.It's not a discrimination at all. Nowadays, we are in the urbanization process, so it will be cancelled at last.

Whatever color you try to paint it, whatever name you may give it and call it, it's nothing but a Legal state sponsored discrimination, nothing else. Please don't tell me that majority of the Chinese (Who actually belong to rural sector) are 100% happy with Hukou.

I again reiterate, even though the cast system is prevalent in our society, it's purely illegal and the constitution and law clearly states that. We don't legally restrict the right to free movement, work , marry etc across the country. But yes cast system is still practiced, and that too in remote socio-economically backward villages and mostly among uneducated population. But you won't see the cast related discrimination and crimes at a rate it used to happened few decades back, changes are happening and over time it will be minimal just like the apartheid in South Africa.
