Half of Beijing's resident population tested for COVID-19

Beijing has tested 11.88 million people for COVID-19 from June 11 to July 14, accounting for half of the city's resident population. The Chinese capital responded swiftly after the first case in a cluster outbreak was reported on June 11. Through nucleic acid test screening Beijing has detected 53.8 percent of the COVID-19 cases, which played a huge part in getting the outbreak effectively contained.

11.88 million in a month, pretty impressive, I m not being tested though.

I know my wife has tested COVID-19 several times, including she travelled back from Thailand in March, and repeatedly tested several times as requested by the authority whenever she travelled out of Beijing and returned to Beijing.

But I have not tested, neither does any of my parents, so the test in Beijing is on-demand test.
