Halal meat hypocrisy- secular bigotry galore

The thing about Halal slaughter is, the arguments against it can be basically summed up into 3 more dominant categories, the first being; that Halal slaughter is unnecessarily cruel compared to all other forms of slaughter. The second; that all slaughter including Halal, or especially Halal is wrong and should be stopped. The last is to do with not wanting Muslim practices such as Halal for the sake of not having as much Islamic influence, or culture; a popular argument used here is that Halal slaughter and food industry supports terrorism or is one way or another not very British etc.

There's something wrong with all 3 of these types. So the first type is all about animal cruelty and suffering at the time of slaughter and the norm of this opinion is that Halal is worst in it's category.

The first becomes somewhat less valid when one considers the fact that the only thing separating Halal slaughter from Kosher slaughter is prayer recited, a meaningless distinction for most that oppose Halal or Kosher or both. So if you are to ban Halal slaughter, there is really no reason not to do the same for Kosher, in fact it would playing at double standards. Another issue with this argument is that animal cruelty during slaughter or before is complicated by the issue of stunning, legal requirements. And if cruelty at one point of the 'manufacturing' process for meat and poultry is considered it cannot be ignored elsewhere. You'd have to take on giant food chains that rely on battery chickens, mutilated livestock, cruelty before slaughter and there's plenty of it. I for one, if I were to consider being vegan for a day and adapt all vegan beliefs and morals, would be more worried with what happens before slaughter, the fact that efficiency and consumption in a capitalist environment leads to these living creatures and livestock being regarded as 'goods' and not animals. The cruelty of large farms, chain slaughter houses and suppliers of these big supermarkets and fast food stores is far more cruel, be they be serving meat slaughtered the Halal way or Kosher way or stunned, or hit over the head with a hammer.

The second argument is MOST valid, it's the pure vegan way, or pure vegetarian belief. That all slaughter is bad, all animal products are bad, no exceptions. This is in fact the most valid and least hypocritical position. BUT, it too has a huge problem, it's not popular and the majority would quickly and overwhelmingly overrule any such notions.

The last argument, is both the least valid and the least honest. Officially it will always put a serious and politically correct face on it's ideas, but inwardly it's hypocrisy, open hypocrisy and is not supported by the conventions it claims to uphold.

And it is the people that hold to the last argument, the far right, BNP, UKIP, Britain First that have taken the call against Halal, and sadly many Brits from all the above arguments seem to support it.

Instead of moaning so much people should learn to obey the laws if they want lo live in a foreign country.

I do agree that following the laws of a nation is something absolute unless you perceive oppression too much to bare, and banning slaughter probably doesn't count.

But, if you were living where you are now and they changed the law tomorrow, would you then just accept it as something absolute and final, or would you 'moan', protest, debate to make said change back to whatever norm you perceive?

I would argue that due to certain recent events protesting the law of the land in Europe isn't the best thing.Let's call a spade a spade, people will see this as the muslim community pushing for more and more.It probably wouldn't have been a problem in the 90's but now, after cartoonists are literally hunted in the streets, some weirdos gather in Denmark to celebrate the Copenhagen shooter as a "hero" it's just very bad timing.

how is this secular bigotry? It's a basic example of democracy at work: some people demanded a ban, so it was looked at. Others campaigned against a ban and that was considered too. Is that unfair? Unfortunately, living under mullah propaganda makes people hateful and bitter when there's no need.

FYI this issue has already been addressed. The government responded that it has no plans to ban halal or kosher sacrifice. I can't post the link, Google if you want.

lol...talk about wasting bandwith.

oh well,i'm sure that @Luffy 500 and co. will find something else to moan about tommorow.

A meat is a meat...what matters is what you put on it and how you cook it.

I will protest if they ban spices and stuff.

Seriously though...as long as the meat is fresh and clean it's all good for me.

That's the worst part, you don't live there but still want them to follow your ways. Anyway I gotta end the conversation here, it's Arsenal vs Monaco, thus I have to go.

How is that any different from those wacko Muslim Immigrants in England who demand Sharia law in the streets?

Sry...EU=Western world.......

Hey, we all know Western World is code name for America. We let Europeans into the group so we don't feel lonely.

The wars were "to defend democracy".

o_O

The thing about Halal slaughter is, the arguments against it can be basically summed up into 3 more dominant categories,

It depends on each country. For example, France got pi$$ed off when the Quick Burger, ie French version of McDonalds, released a Halal Cheese Burger. The technique to slaughter an animal to be Halal is not different at all from being Kosher.

But lets not brush each 'White Country' with the same brush. The Halal Meat Industry has prospered in Australia and New Zealand and these countries are exporting across the world as far as Chile. The governments promoted and even declared practices to make the meat Halal as the regulation across the agricultural board. Recent 'Boycotts' against Halal have been countered by Australians and New Zealanders who consider Halal meat not as a Premium but a standard that they want.

How much of it is due to economics? Well, much of Australian Halal goes to the Muslim world. The second largest share is to non-Muslim nations, ie Australia/ NZ/ America/ Canada/ Chile/ Mexico/ Philippines.

halal boycott : Non halal | Lists non halal certified products or brands sold in Australia | This website lists non halal certified products or brands

Yes you are butthurt and you're a hypocrite to.You saw a problem that a Romanian comments such things but you didn't see a problem when a Bangladeshi posters concerns himself with Danish laws.

I see no problem with halal per say,i slaughter pigs for Christmas and lambs for Easter as per tradition by my own hand.If i were to immigrate to Denmark i will stop doing that because it's against the law.Instead of moaning so much people should learn to obey the laws if they want lo live in a foreign country. The more you moan and push "your way" on people the more you're antagonising them. And than you act surprised.

This has nothing to do with pushing our way on anyone. Halal meat is under the spot light and being pushed to be banned by certain people only because of their hatred for Muslims and has nothing to do with animal welfare and the fact that you would agree with this petty issue just shows your mentality. Which is out of only anger and hatred. There are plenty of real issues with Muslims this isn't one of them.

The people who agree with this are either genuine about animal welfare and are against all slaughter of animals (which doesn’t include people stuffing their mouths with factory farm meat and the same time being against halal meat) and the other types are bigots that would agree with anything that’s against Muslims

I would still love to know how those wars were about defending democracy

Football?? But that's what seculars watch ! And the evil Brits invented football ! And so on,and so forth....
I don't see GAY ORGY going on in football. The Brits didn't create football, earliest record of football being played dates back to 4,000 BC. The Brits created the World Cup, the Germans and Brazilians conquered it.

Also, if we are going that way than remember that it was Muslims who created hospitals and universities and thus (according to your logic) you therefore shouldn't attend them as you are "seculars".

What ? Romans and Greeks had hospitals and universities way before muslims.

How the hell do you know why these people argue for that law ? Again with that victim mentality that everyone is out there to hurt muslims. As i've said endless moaning .You bitch about halal and see it as targeting muslims but act offended when people call muslims terrorists when things such as the Charlie Hebdo attacks happen.Don't paint the world through your eyes if you don't want others to do the same.

Attacks wouldn't happen if your countries didn't bomb Middle Easter countries and turn them into terror training grounds. Europe has been putting its nose where it shouldn't be for far too long. Time for you people to realize that fo every action there is a consequence.

The problems is that these attack happen mostly from so called European citizens. That leads any sane person to believe that some muslims put their religion ahead of their country, which leads to this backlash.Don't get me started on attacks due to cartoons.

I don't care what CNN says lol.Romans and Greeks had hospitals before muslims.Anyone with internet access can check that out.

How does your question answer my post?.Some muslims put religion before their citizenship and that is not acceptable in the Western world. In fact that isn't acceptable in most countries across the globe.

Here:

The concept of the modern hospital (the actual care, 'hospitality' and treatment of visitors) for the civilian masses in Europe didn't come to fruition until post Constantine and the rise of Christianity. While these early Christian hospitals were grossly over their heads regarding medical capability (they essentially served as last stops for the dying or quarantine centers), the concept of providing care to the public was the actual intent. In this regard, the first civilian hospitals were developed.

Roman Hospitals

As for universities, everybody had them before muslims, from Europe to Persia,India and China

Ancient higher-learning institutions - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Btw,most of the things in your link were not invented by muslims.Maybe muslims retook the knowledge and even expanded it but,for example, they certainly didn't invent surgery lol.

Isn't that what "freedom" allows them to or are you telling me that it's only used to brainwash the masses. Most Muslim countries offer Westerners alcohol (not illegal for non-Muslims) and if we followed your way, than we would have banned alcohol and pork.

Also, the Greeks and Romans had makeshift hospitals mostly for war not for daily civilian use. Thus you will see that even in movies, doctors come to the patients home. Whereas for universities, back then they would have those who would try to understand or research further education without a proper guidance (thus they were called scholars) and not use the modern teaching methods.

I can't connect to this website properly (keep losing connection), thus, I may not be able to reply to your further replies.

I have the same problem with the site.

The ideea is that they had hospitals and universities, check my links, they were not invented by muslims, maybe they just expanded the concept. Also,if you would read my link you would see that the Romans had hospitals for civilians use, especially in the christian era. So,basically christians invented modern hospitals before muslims-if you fancy the religious approach. The same for universities, they existed in ancient Greece, they existed in the Byzantine era,way before muslims.Same with algebra, same with surgery. Thus the term "invented" is just wrong.
