by that logic Pakistan should never buy or induct another heli or tank into its armory. It should discard all existing helis and tanks as well - waste of resources on maintenance and training of personnel.

This looks like complacency and it is very dangerous. Never assume that your enemy is weak. The mughal empire was complacent and today it is in the dust bin of history. When Pakistan has the resources we should also go for helicopter production.made by hal = Pakistan has nothing to worry about!
