We should have both qualitative and little bit of quantitative edge. We need Rafale for sure no doubt about that alongside LCA's in major numbers.
Rafale 200
FGFA 150
SU30. 272
MIG29. 90
LCA 1,2. 400
This is roughly 1100 fighter jets. Quality and quantity.

You forgot about the mirage 2005s.

And I don't doubt that the fgfa numbers will be increased to 300+ as originally planned.

@Capt.Popeye @Manticore @sancho > Kindly tell why the difference between *(stated) combat radius is so huge.

You can see the jft vs gripen table for the specs of jft based on dubai airshow 2011 , however we dont know under what paramaters/configuration the tests were done moreover ''what we contributed in the project 5years back'' is not as important as what capability in aviation industry we've attained/will attain with the jf-17 project in the near future. SAAB is known to manipulate the paramaters particularly when competing with twin engine fighters

What is the price at which HAL is buying the GE F404 engines from US?

I disagree. Indian built AEW&C along with LCA and Refuelers will not only cost less than Rafale, but will be more lethal.

So by your logic 2000+ LCA's are a far more cost effective and lethal solution to our upcoming AMCA. Which Means the world is fooling itself in the name of advancement and so are we.

Look dear. There is a big difference in terms of Technology and Sophistication which has gone into LCA and Rafale. Every type of Aircraft has a different role in our inventory.

Saving cost is not important but life. There are Missions which A Squadron of Rafales can flawlessly undertake while the LCA cant and Vice Verse.

No war has been fought with Fixed strategy, strategies change by the course of war and our armed forces need options and to have options they need choices and to have choices they need variety.

How about we get cracking on Nirbhay missile and rely on S2S brahmos and Su30MKI for deep strike ? Howe about we put in an extra 2 billion on AMCA development, Hire the best brains in the world and get cracking at it ?

I know. Many poor gullible indians come here in all their gullibility, only to learn the hard facts of life.

I still remember that in the aftermath of 2008, one indian member here wrote "I'm dead sure that this time Indian military will take action!! Enough is enough! We aren't letting Pak getting away with this? What kind of shameless nation they think we are? Just wait and watch, there will be a surgical strike back for sure..probably even more!!!" (paraphrased) ....and I told those gullible indians that they can not launch any surgical strike against Pak even if they want to because the military-calculus doesn't support such kind of action, and any surgical strike would cause more harm to india then benefit.

But gullible kids were set on fire....

Too bad, they, yet again, had to face the humiliation of the "harsh reality" on ground when PAF F-16s locked on Su-30MKIs and "escorted" them back to border....and they never returned since after

indians..even after all the pressure, humiliation, and fury...were forced to back down, yet again.
My lord :woot::woot::woot:

Can you provide a source for this claim of yours :D ???

Sure. If you are retarded then that is what my logic looks like. Come back to me when you want to talk sense.

Gee uncle. I did not know that. Is is similar to Tom and Jerry ?

Saving cost is not important but life. There are Missions which A Squadron of Rafales can flawlessly undertake while the LCA cant and Vice Verse.

No one is talking about saving cost. At least take the effort to understand what is written.

There are missions where F-22 will perform flawlessly, so now you want that too ? How about for missions that A-10 can perform flawlessly ? What about missions F-35 can perform flawlessly ? Why don't we get 100 each ?

No war has been fought with Fixed strategy, strategies change by the course of war and our armed forces need options and to have options they need choices and to have choices they need variety.

WOW. Really deep. Let us also provide our Army with Bullock cart, kitchen sink, whoopee cushions etc.. as those too will increase our armed forces choices and 'variety'.

Source for what??
Su-30MKI came into existence after 2002.

If he is talking about Su-30 then also he is wrong since IAF never used it during Kargil war. Only Mig series, Jaguars and Mirages were used.

Not really. We actually analyzed the situation and decided that there is no pressing need to hang a criminal suffering from terminal cancer.

A cheap price for a cheap fighter, quite reasonable.
