HAL may not meet SU-30MKI delivery deadline

@Pakistani nationalist which su-30 variant is most advance variant?.... Su-30MKI the only su-30 variants which are far ahead then any su-30.... Now after more modification it will be super sukhoi-30MKI.... yes it will be nearly Sukhoi-35....

Our current su-30mki's are far better than su-35..............u dont need super sukhois

Our current su-30mki's are far better than su-35..............u dont need super sukhois

Don't get over confident, please. Su-30MKI's are quite capable out of the Su-30 variants, but Su-35 is in another league. Of course Su-30MKI is ahead of anything Pakistan has, and is on par with Chinese fighters. With the upgrades going through it may possibly be close to a Su-35, but at current standards it's not. Su-35 is the most capable fighter with Russia to-date.

The initial contract for 50 su-30mkis was around 1.4 billion dollars... thts roughly 29 million dollars... and the jets india ordered was around 32-35 million $ each.. so lets not brag about lies.. no SU variants is above 35 million $..

Yeah right... F-16 blk 52+ and FC-20.... You gotta be jokin!

you have the most terrible knowledge about india dude, the contract was of technology transfer, so that sukhois were to be manufactured in india, buying a jet directly would cost much more....

Looks like you didnt understand my post... tot further reduces the cost of per unit product... while your indian buddy claims the price of an su-30mki to be around 80 million... which is an EPIC BAKWAS...No offence.

thats what i am saying....TOT reduces the per unit cost, so the jets worth 35 million under TOT could well be of 80 million when bought directly......

Nothing surprising in this news HAL is famous for delays :D

Shucks! You were trying to troll with the kind of workload that HAl has I think they have done a great job but I'm sure they could get better with a little bit of external help sure you are not going to understand that.

The most recent batch of MKIs do cost 80mil+ and the SUPER MKIs will cost 100mil+

Can you provide a link?Wiki says its 32.65 million with sources.... 100+ million is the supposed cost of F-35.

If the figure is true.. the russians r fooling indians.. in 2007 the price of 1 su30mki was around 32 million dollar...

Yes but the fighters are very advanced and the 100mil SUPER MKIs are going to be out of this world with AESA, new cockpit, HMDS, new missiles etc etc

Yes but the fighters are very advanced and the latest batches are much more advanced than the first batches at 32mil and the 100mil SUPER MKIs are going to be out of this world with AESA, new cockpit, HMDS, new missiles etc etc

Russia has never sold India 50 SU-30MKI's. Russia sold India the basic SU-30 which was later modified. The more gagets the Indians wanted the higher the price became.

The Malaysians payed about 900 millions for 18 fighters, that comes out to about 50 million a pop. That was about 8 years ago; i do not know what the terms of the contract was in regards to spares and after market support or if it was even included in the same deal but paying 50 million per aircraft nearly a dacade ago isn't cheap.

Why these idiots become journalists?

HAL was originally supposed to make 140 MKI by 2014/15, but now they are given 180 to be produced by 2014/15.

No they aren't, they last batch of 40 x upgraded are expected until 2017 and the article is confusing this point, especially since there is no official statement about it.

Wrong! ToT doesn't reduce the production cost, but the fact that it's cheaper to produce in India than in Russia. Licence production under ToT even increases the unit costs per fighter, because you have to pay for the licence too, that's why HAL MKIs are expected to be as costly or even costlier than the first 50 ordered directly from Russia, while it increases participation and experience of Indian industry.
The $80 to 100 millions per unit ($4 to 5 billions totally) for the upgraded were never confirmed, but most likely includes the costs for the upgrade of the first 100 MKIs as well.
