Pakistan today placed Jamaat-ud-Dawa chief Hafiz Saeed's name on the Exit Control List, two days after the Mumbai attack mastermind and his four aides were put under house arrest.

The interior ministry has forwarded a letter to all provincial governments and the Federal Investigation Agency, which included names of 38 individuals placed on the list, preventing them from leaving the country. All of them were said to be linked with JuD or Lashkar-e-Taiba.

The ministry had "placed Falah-e-Insaniat Foundation and Jamaat-Ud-Dawa on the Watch List as per UNSC 1267 Sanctions and have listed these organisations in the Second Schedule of the ATA 1997 (as amended)."

"Hafiz Muhammad Saeed, Abdullah Ubaid, Zafar Iqbal, Abdur Rehman Abid and Qazi Kashif Niaz are reportedly active members of the aforementioned organisations within the meaning of Section 11EEE(1) of the ATA 1997 (as amended)," read a notification issued by the ministry.

"As such, they must be placed under preventive detention," it added.

Saeed has been placed under a 90-day house arrest. There have been reports that Islamabad has immense pressure from new US administration to take action against Saeed and his organisations.

I can see that, it was necessary to bring China into this like from the mouth of Hamid Mir as well. No doubt, our neighbour will play the same game only to mislead yet subjected development has nothing to do with China's stance at all but availing the opportunity, India must be propagating which is not the case and people are aware of the same.

We dont have any problem with Pakistan except these parasites like Hafeez .
And recently Pakistan was vocal in using China's name against US whenever there is a push from US .But in here all of these actions was swift that is indeed revealing

The Ministry of Interior on Wednesday stated that Pakistan does not need India's approval over the recent action the government took regarding Hafiz Saeed, chief of proscribed organisation Jamat-ud-Dawa (JuD), Radio Pakistan reported.

The ministry further stated that India has constantly been using Hafiz Saeed's political activities as a tool to malign Pakistan.

"The international community should take note and understand that Pakistan is a democratic society, where judiciary takes free, independent and transparent decisions. If indeed India is serious about its allegations, it should come up with concrete evidence against Hafiz Mohammad Saeed," read the statement.


The evidence should be such that it is "sustainable in the court of law in Pakistan or for that matter, anywhere in the world", the spokesman added.


"Mere casting aspirations and levelling allegations without any corroboratory evidence will not help [preserve] peace in the region," interior ministry said.


The ministry further stated that Pakistan is still waiting for a justification and explanation from India about its claim that all those involved in the 2008 Samjhota Express bombing, where 68 people, mostly Pakistanis, were killed, have got off scot-free.

The said group is working for an agenda and not purely for Pakistan and has huge obsession with China, CPEC and Gwadar. By the same term, read and lesson to BJP election campaigns, political gatherings and all that NaMO & Co never miss chance to issue threats to Pakistan. Whether it is good or not but this action is not under influence or wish of India at all nor has any relation with China concerns with Pakistan over this issue. The thing is so different.
