Hacked emails of UAE ambassador reveal alleged role in Turkey coup attempt
https://www.dailysabah.com/diplomac...or-reveal-alleged-role-in-turkey-coup-attempt

The emails allegedly stolen from the inbox of the Yousef Al- Otaiba, the United Arab Emirates' ambassador to the United States, revealed on Saturday the close relationship between al-Otaiba and a pro-Israel, neo-conservative think tank the Foundation for Defense of Democracies (FDD).

The Intercept reported that the emails were hacked and distributed by a group calling itself "GlobalLeaks" tying themselves to DCLeaks, a website that previously released Democratic National Committee emails. According to the report, the hackers used a .ru email address, associated with Russia.

The hacked emails show that Otaiba has been in frequent contact with the neo-conservative think tank FDD, which is funded by pro-Israel billionaire Sheldon Adelson, an ally of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

In one of the emails obtained by the Intercept, FDD senior counselor John Hannah, a former deputy national security advisor to Vice President Dick Cheney, sent Otaiba an article claiming that both the UAE and FDD were responsible for the July 15 military coup attempt in Turkey, saying he is "honored to be in the UAE's company."

Hannah previously published an article on the Foreign Policy titled "How Do You Solve a Problem Like Erdoğan?", in which he suggested that the Turkish military would turn on Erdoğan to "save" Turkey.

In another email, Hannah tells Otaiba that Qatar, another Gulf state that the UAE is at odds with, is hosting the Palestinian movement Hamas at an Emirati-owned hotel.

Otaiba says that it's not the Emirati government's fault, and that the real issue is the U.S. military base in Qatar, "How's this, you move the base then we'll move the hotel :-)."

The emails also includes the proposed agenda of an upcoming meeting between FDD and the UAE government on June 11-14, in which the atendees are set to discuss Turkey, Qatar and Muslim Brotherhood.

Those who are attending including FDD CEO Mark Dubowitz, Hannah and Jonathan Schanzer, FDD vice president for research were expected to discuss issues like "Implications of Erdoğan's executive presidency", "Al Jazeera as an instrument of regional instability" and "discussion of possible U.S./UAE policies to positively impact Iranian internal situation."

It doesn't make sense to me, because a Redneck guy called "John Hannah" wrote an article with the title of ""How Do You Solve a Problem Like Erdoğan?" that doesn't mean UAE is involved in the failed military coup, the coup might be also staged by Erdogan as many Turkish citizens say and believe.

.
All over Turkish media, cant really make sense out of it since i dont know why UAE would support a coup only thing that comes to my mind is Turkey-Qatar relations.
Anyways, if true then the goverment should re-think its policies regarding gulf countries.

Supporting Morsi? Supporting Qatar? Supporting MB in the ME? Having a good relationship with Iran which allegedly occupies UAE islands? Not accepting GCC leadership in the Arab and Muslim world? Making Pakistan less reliant on GCC money? Having fundamentally different opinions regarding Libya, Yemen, Syria, Iraq?

What more reason do you need?

UAE even vetoed North Cyprus' membership in the OIC. They really need a hard punishment.

Therefore also KSA, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman all guilty ?

That, It is justice...

The real perception of the threat is this (Morsi and Qatar), above all.

Qatar should stop funding terrorism, says leading opposition figure (The National.ae - June 3, 2017)

Qatar Emir in Kuwait for talks on resolving GCC row (The National.ae - May 31, 2017)

It is not even him personally but members of the royal family and especially of rich Qatarians whose He is responsible as Emir.

...

.
How does receiving/reading an article became having a role in the coup? Rediculous. Even if it were true that would be something to be proud and of which, if it had succeeded, Turks would have been thankful.

The UAE and Saudi despots are responsible for funding and arming Daesh terrorists with the help of israel and the entire Muslim world is made to pay the price for such disgusting acts. They are behind sisi's terrorism against the Egyptian people and after all this they have the audacity to portray others as terrorists.

Cant say about others but if UAE is in something then surealy KSA too.

Im pretty sure a coup led by a religious fanatic and a sec leader on the other side of the planet isnt very welcome by Turks.

.
I thought it was carried out by secularists and Erdogan accused Gulen just to justify the mass arrests.

You know the funny thing is that some Turks get upset when they read some allegations regarding the support of Gulen and his movement by other countries, but it's okay to them when AKP and Edrogan support MB which is designated as terrorist group in the UAE mainly, GCC and Egypt.

Because they feel threatened by movements like muslim brotherhood or any other movement which challenges the idea of their governance. Qatar and Turkey are sympathetic to them and they don't mind making allies including Israel to preserve their rule. Same reason they against Al jazeera

Well regarding Israel, Turkey has a lot more trade and agreements with Israel than any GCC country.
Dont let yourself get fooled by Erdogans religious paroles the reality is a lot more different.

Yes, I'm aware of relations between Turkey and Israel. The point is that they don't mind doing underhand dealings with their Israel aka their sworn enemy to preserve their rule. In short they put their own interests above the interests of their nation(people).
